"You won’t regret choosing CMR!"

We would unreservedly recommend CMR for your domestic move. Darrin, Shane and the team made our recent moving experience seamless … and even, dare I say it, enjoyable!

From the moment I contacted Darrin for a quote, until the move was completed, the service was excellent. The initial meeting and quote was extremely thorough which we found helpful. The team delivered exactly what was promised, at a fair price. Using their packing service was the best decision we made.

Darrin’s communication was clear throughout the whole process. Darrin and the team were all very professional. They were very considerate and easy company to have in our home. They all worked extremely hard for the 3 days they were with us. Darrin was quick to respond about a couple of missing items which they subsequently found and delivered to us promptly.

Big thanks to Darrin, Shane and the team.

"Wouldn't move without CRM now, they've made moving a dream!"

CMR have moved us twice now, about an hour between locations each time. The first time we moved, in 2022 Darrin was the only mover of half a dozen we contacted for quotes that even bothered turning up to the house to assess it for a quote.

As part of the moving package they also come and pack everything prior to the move and dismantle anything that needs to be dismantled on the day of the move. The difference between moving with and without them is like night and day, they have helped make the moving process much less stressful.

Both times we have used them they have been incredible, working without complaint, even though we somehow seem to always pick the hottest days to move on!

Darrin, Shane and the rest of the team have always been great guys, very professional and really easy to get along with.

Absolutely disgusting company! Give these a wide berth! Especially darrin if your a female tries it on and when he gets rejected out comes the unlawful terms in his contract like a petulant child that didn't get his way! People of Bowdon stay well away!!

"A truly professional Company"

Darrin and his team were absolutely fantastic! I had been messed around with my moving dates on 3 occasions, Darrin remained very patient with us and offered a lot of advice and solutions to our problem.
Moving day came, CMR arrived on time, packed us up and moved us the following day. All of our belongings arrived in perfect condition. Despite the horrendous weather conditions, not a single mark was left on our brand new carpet due to the thorough protection laid down.
A truly professional company, Thank you CMR!

"Negligent & Insensitive"

Long story short, the team are not as careful as they need to be.

To summarise the service I received; I had multiple items damaged due to improper packaging and/ or handling. I had an ongoing dispute with Darrin after this and I was unfortunate to learn that I was not covered for this damage as I overlooked the clause in the contract that states 'for cover of more than £40 per item' additional insurance is needed.

My two main areas of complaint here are:

a) I expect my belongs to be treated with the utmost care and respect. Darrin tried to play the damage down as accidental, however the improper packaging and handling that I can evidence would suggest that the root cause is NEGLIGENCE.

b) During the survey Darrin should do his best to flag the need for enhanced insurance. It's easy to see that a TV for example will likely cost more that £40 to repair/ replace.

In addition to the dispute around damages, I had several issues with things being packed when I asked them not to be, items being missed in rooms and a lack of care given to the properties involved. Coverings were put down but not replaced when disturbed.

In addition to the poor relocation services I encountered there is also the matter of Darrin's approach to customer service. After a lot of back and forth about the damage I have the following personal opinions/ observations to share:

a) He was reluctant to apologise until I flagged that he hadn't, several emails in
b) He shunned any responsibility and stuck to the line about my oversight when it came to the insurance. This can be seen in his response below.
c) He appears to be devoid of any sentiment when I spoke of irreplaceable items damaged beyond repair. Also evident in his response to this review.
d) He threatened me with legal action if I wrote a negative review. He later retracted this.

In summary CMR Relocation, for me, were negligent/ careless, lack customer focus, ignorant and unprofessional. I would strongly suggest you avoid them.

In response to the reply posted by Darrin..

The fact this was 8 months ago is irrelevant, I have had this on my todo since the day we ceased emailing. I wanted to ensure I gave this sufficient time to write a reflective and honest review as I discussed with Darrin.

Here is the full email in which I said the move 'went well' for context. The edited version posted by Darrin does not reflect the sentiment behind the statement and also makes clear that regardless of the outcome of the insurance claim this review was incoming.

I am also happy to upload the full email thread to a public server and post the link if anybody would like to see the full exchange, legal threats and all..

Even had I of read the contract and paid for extra insurance, you would have still broken things. Clearly no lessons are learnt here.

Overall the move ‘went well’, all our stuff made it and the majority was undamaged. Though lets also not forget the chairs I asked to be left out which where among the first things to be packed.

This would have gone further regardless if I’m honest. At the time I raised the claim one box remained unopened. In that box I found, crushed beyond recognition, my button hole from our wedding day. It had not been protectively wrapped and simply put in a box with other lose items, much like the forever roses I bought my wife after we lost our first pregnancy. Devastated about sums up how I felt about that. I didn’t follow up as no monetary amount would resolve that.

Ultimately it’s an item worth less than the £40 limit that has driven me to this point.

This is going this way because your team where not careful enough and sentimental items where damaged.

If this where about money i’d have taken the £120 on offer, or perhaps threatened a bad review unless you paid me direct. In all honesty this is beyond money, I wouldn’t accept anything at this point.

If adequate insurance is advisable, perhaps advise it verbally as well?

I don’t think there is any need to continue this conversation. If you feel the need to spend your money on solicitors fees in response to my review then so be it. I’m confident however that will get you nowhere."

"CMR RELOCATION 5* removal service…"

CMR RELOCATION are an absolutely fantastic removal service. I have used this company both times I have relocated.

Polite, helpful and brilliant at their jobs.
Darrin, Shaun and the rest of the team were professional at all times and nothing was too much.
Can’t thank the team enough for how effective and quickly they moved myself and my son, this includes dismantling and rebuilding mine and my sons bedroom furniture. Even when there was a slight issue in rebuilding my sons bunks beds Shaun was on hand to deal with the problem and this was resolved immediately.
