I have bought several chess sets from chessbazaar. Each set was beautifully carved and given an impeccable finish. Also very importantly, they were packed very well for shipping so that each set arrived without a blemish. I will continue to buy sets from them as they add to their offerings to round out my chess set collection

Canceled item, was asked why, I replied, they replied thanking me for changing my mind (which I clearly hadn’t) and shipped the item.

"I got scammed by Chessbazaar"

I got scammed by Chessbazaar. The chess pieces arrived but because of the poor quality I wanted to return the chess pieces. I wrote several emails, contacted them on the German webpage and English webpage. They are ignoring it and it's been already 2 month.

"Poor quality chess pieces"

Poor quality chess pieces, and poorly finished. I've bought other sets from India - other businesses - and been delighted. The set from Chess Bazaar was cheap - less than £100, but I should have stuck to previous companies for higher quality. Chess Bazaar did respond promptly to emails but didn't offer a solution. Photos on the site showed a beautifully finished product. The one I received is not one I'll be using much.

What an awesome set, just received mine. The pieces with 3.75inch king is super big with big bases. I am super happy and the quality of workmanship is absolutely awesome

"After a first successful bying …"

After a first successful bying of plastic pieces (The Player Series Tournament Plastic Chess Pieces - 3.8" King), I chose a high-end set (Reproduced of Vintage 1915-25 Nimzovich Staunton Weighted Chess Pieces in Painted Boxwood with King Side Stamping - 3.75" King). High quality carving, immaculate painting job, the set is awesome. As it was a clearance set, the price was not so high, despite still an expensive set. No additions to the advertised price except VAT: shipment is included, no additional custom fees to pay. Shipment from India to France has been blazing fast: purchase online on Saturday, shipped next Monday (Fedex) and delivered on Thursday morning, same week! Great job!

"Stay away from Chessbazaar!!!"

Hi All.
I just purchased a chess box from chessbazaar, the price was about 65€. Fair enough. I received the item about a week later, and with great disappointment the quality was simply miserable. The lining inside the box is all wrinkly and partially glued, and the lid is too small to keep the box closed. Simply a disaster.
I called and the gelnteman on the phone told me to qwrite an email with pictures. Which I did.
The answer I got was simply RIDICULOUS!!
After asking to have the item refunded... I simply got no answer.
NEVER AGAIN WITH THIS PEOPLE!!
There a lot of MUCH BETTER Chess shops around. My suggestion is simply to Stay Away from Chessbazaar.

I just received the item M0081 from Order #000127218 (Tournament Chess Storage Box in Sheesham Wood for up to 3.8" Chess Set).
Unfortunately I am really disappointed by the very poor quality of the item, considering its high price.
The box doesn’t close properly, in fact the lid is so narrow that it does not engage the slits on the box sides. Also the lining is only partial and badly glued inside the box. Ugly ugly.
Please see the attached photos.
I would like a complete refund of the item. Please let me know."

The answer: "Thanks for sharing your concern with us.
the storage box which you have purchased from us against order number 000127218 is of Sheesham solid wood and a 100% handmade product and it is very difficult for us to standardize like any mass-produced product.
However, our carvers try their level best to achieve as much depth as possible. It's the design of the storage box, which can not be considered a warranty claim.
Looking forward to serving you soon.

My answer was: "Gentlemen,
a box that doesn’t close is a faulty box. If your carvers try their best… well, I am sorry but it is merely a problem that you have to solve with your carvers.
If it’s a matter of design, well my modest suggestion is to design a better box… I am an engineer myself.
I am not talking about standardizing, I am talking about making a box that can stay closed. And the fact that it is mass produced as you say, doesn’t have to make it a bad product.

I can see that the product is expensive for what it is, and it is the result of very sloppy work, and will due respect, your justification is quite pointless to me.
Please do what every business man will do with an unsatisfied client, before the client gets very angry. And please do it without arguing an obvious fault. Please refund the product and we close it here.

"I wouldn´t recommend buying here"

The warranty is just high-sounding text, if you receive a damaged chessboard. It will not be replaced, keep it in mind when buying a chessboard.

But..... (You MUST read here below before buying)

Chessboard are incredible expensive. The sell Rechapados Ferrer chessboards which in Europe you find for about 50-100 euro (depending on the size)

They sell exact the same chessboard for 250 euro. In some cases is almost five times the commercial price here in Europe.
