"What a fabulous day"

What a fabulous day! Leo was a great guide and all around super nice guy. He set the tone having everyone share enough about themselves to make us all feel like friends - even those of us who “don’t like people.” Our first winery, Quinta Avidagos (sp?) was beautiful, and our host Pedro gave us a great tour and thorough explanation of harvesting and the wine making process. We tasted 3 amazing wines - a white, a rose and a red. The flavors are so pure - no preservatives - and just yummy. Then we had a relaxing and beautiful ride in their private solar powered boat - just our group, not on a massive boat with tons of people. There we had white port tonics which were very refreshing, and delicious snacks, which were enough to be a meal. The views were incredible. Then back in the van with Leo to a viewpoint then on to lunch at another winery. The food was home prepared, and we tasted at least 5 wines (we lost count), a combination of table wines & port. Both the family members and Leo served us, then we had time to look around their home and land. Lastly we had an enjoyable ride back to Porto with Leo sharing more about the countryside, Porto and Portugal. It was one of the best experiences of our trip. Recommend very highly - it’s a wonderful way to understand Portugal’s wine and culture.

We took a small group tour with Leo from Porto to the Duoro Valley. The day was fantastic! Leo was engaging and informative. The boat ride, winery tour, and traditional Portuguese lunch were fabulous! Leo really went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful experience. His love of Portugal shined through! It was a very a memorable day!

Wow what a wonderful day this is by far the best experience in the Douro, we spent an amazing day with our host, learned a lot about the region and the wine making process excellent food home made in a family environment, the car ride was smooth in a Mercedes van. Highly recommended.

"Douro Valley - a tour to never forget"

Well... how to start describing one of the best tours I have ever done!!! From the moment we all met in the morning I knew this was about to be an amazing adventure... extremely friendly guide and immediatly we all engaged. The ride to the Douro Valley was roughly 1.5h and the time flew by as the guide kept us all entertained and getting to know each other better.

Then, out of the blue, we go through a tunnel and it felt like going through a twilight zone as on the other side the beautiful and scenic Douro Valley awaited for us. The landscape is something like i've never seen in my life.

We went to 2 wineries... in one of them we tasted amazing wines and we got to know a lot about wine and Port wine. In the 2nd winery we got an amazing home cooked lunch and paired it with amazing wine as well.

We also did a beautiful boat ride where we could feel how magic that place is and how nature and vineyards blend in something that we learned is World Heritage.

Lots of surprises along the way like little snack treats and breathtaking viewpoints.

This experience is now ranked no.1 in my travel life and all thanks to the very well organized tour provided by BLHeritage Tours and their extremely professional guides.

The boat ride was also amazing with captain and another tour guide (also from the same company) which were both local and explained more history from Douro Valley and also gave us some special treats/surprises !
The wines we tried during the day (Table wines and port wines) were also high quality with great value. You can also buy them there or ship it to your door with safe payments !
Can’t forget also to refer the Tour Guide that gave us VIP service and safe driving from beginning to the end of the day .

Heard about the region of “Douro” while at Porto and decided to take a tour there, that’s when I came across BL Heritage tours! Oh my!! What a fantastic experience, team and overall day! The guides were all very helpful, informative and warm! The time on the boat was very special and quite a few surprises there ahah!
