Last Summer, I completed Batting Prowess training with Simple Batting. I cannot recommend Gio highly enough. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced cricketer looking to take your batting skills to the next level, he has the expertise, knowledge, and passion to help you achieve your goals. His true professionalism, guidance and encouragement helped me to gain more confidence at the crease.

"Second to none"

I came across SIMPLE Batting in 2019 on social media and Gio's knowledge, logic and explanations just made sense in a way no one I have seen has. He places a massive emphasis on keeping things SIMPLE - both with the training of fundamentals and the mental aspect of batting - which is neglected by almost every coach out there.

Most coaches tell you do x, do y, do z - but I found Gio was the first coach that actually told me HOW to do it, and how to continuously measure and make rapid progress with small consistent changes combined with simple mental processes.

I was able to improve my strike rate massively with simple changes to mindset and how I train.

Cricket is so behind in terms of biomechanics and "technique" compared to other bat/racquet sports such as baseball/tennis - but Gio is changing that and it is refreshing to see.

Considering what other coaches charge and their expertise compared to Gio - if you're looking for coaching I would say this is a no brainer.

Gio is an exceptional coach. The training he has created is built from years of experience. The batting prowesses trading is excellent to reinforce the fundamentals of the game and gives you a tool to remain focused and “Watch the Ball”. After the training I scored a 50 and this was after a while. I also made useful contributions with number of not out innings as I ran out of partners.

This program has assisted me in each department of my cricket mentally, physically and technically.It has helped me challenged myself for more and to understand how to go about your craft and get better at it daily as far as your routines in everyday living.
Simple batting has also help me document my progress and how to navigate in different conditions .

"A complete different batsmen!!"

About a year or 2 ago I came across Gio Colussi's facebook page, Simple batting, unweighing of the bat etc. Now, I have a super talented cricketer, but he didn't score runs and believe me we tried everything, send him to big name coaches, cricket schools, he just wasn't scoring consistently. We knew as parents, it was all between the ears. I could see as a mom he was a fearful batsmen, in the nets he looked better than AB and Faf, but no runs or very little runs on the field...he use to be the batsmen who chirp the bowlers, not at all present in his game..
We decided to give Gio a try, my oh my, what a huge difference it made!! He was a different batsman, completely!! Suddenly he was not scared to get out, he is a very technically correct batsmen, but he used it to score runs, not to keep the ball out the whole time and score 5 from 50 balls, 8 from 80 balls..He actually got 42* from 20 balls, he scored a 53, a 68 etc. He scored more runs in one season, than he scored in his whole High School career. There is still alot of work in progress, but he knows what and how to do it now...Gio, we can't thank you enough..

"What resonated with me was finally…"

What resonated with me was finally somebody underatood how i was feeling and the pressures i was putting myself under. Since joining back before the pandemic Gios advice and teachings have been a massive help in my mental and physical game. After my first call with Gio my mindset changed and i hit 89* not out the next day in the southern premier league would have been a big 100 but we got the total we were chasing. Since joining my game has gone from strength to strength and i enhoy batting again and dont feel the pressures or stress i had before. I would certainly recommend joining the group if you are having struggles with your batting as what Gio teaches is bloody brillant and has helped in a massive way.

"Batting Prowess"

I undertook the Batting Prowess course after an initial diagnosis with Gio. I saw the result straight away and managed to score a 50 first game after the training which happened to be my first of the 6 fifty plus scores ..it all came after the Batting Prowess training. I wish I had done the training a couple of years back so I would be enjoying the game more.

I enjoyed working with GIO and respected his knowledge and understanding of the game. When he presented information to me I also felt he wasn't forcing it on me he was allowing me to have the knowledge and work for myself. Something I think is very important in a coach.

At its heart simple batting focuses on 2 things:

1) Improving/practising the basics of batting by that I mean your (technique/fundamentals) to be more consistent in your ability to better access and contact with the ball.

2) the mental side of batting, helping players either formulate a plan or think about the current ones they have. For me personally I spent a lot of time looking at the differences from when I was playing well to when I wasn't and what I was doing different. Which then allows me now to mentally go into each game in a better place, even keeled and give myself the best opportunity to be consistent.
