Great service Amos brought my CV into the 21st century, it was so overwhelming trying to work what to put and what to leave out. with Amos he got it done and I have only had great response regarding my CV

I got a free evaluation (I didnt even ask for). It seems they offer a generic CV service for non specialist jobs. Some of their advice made my eyes roll - "employers want to know what you've 'achieved' not what you've 'done'". Thats fine if you are a white collar worker where you make sense of business through profit margins and spread sheets. I can assure you in my line of work all people want to know is what you have done and what you can do. A Media CV is totally different to a typical job CV you were shown by career advisors at the job centre.

This mantra of 'achievement' over 'work experience' has been parroted by career advisors for many years. I get the feeling an employer historically said it once, its been latched onto and circulated ever since that this is what all employers want. I've never seen any evidence that there's any truth to it.

Bizarrely they stated I'm entry level with 0 years experience, despite my cv clearly stating 10 years experience in the field!

If I was to just rewrite my CV, the way you sent it over, I could have done it by myself without the need to spend any money. And now you are asking me for more? For what? You didn’t spend any additional advisory time afterwards! What you sent is just a draft with a promise to collaborate together in order to make any appropriate improvements.

I need to mention that I am very disappointed from my whole experience with your company as I didn’t receive any help from you!

Due to an unforeseen situation I wasn’t able to contact you earlier, only to find out that you are not going to help me improve the FIRST INITIAL DRAFT you sent!!!

I am sorry but this is a really bad experience for me!

I got perfect and fast help in creating, what I found, I very nice CV and cover letter. It was surprisingly fast and convenient. Exceeded my expectations!

I have just completed my service with this company so I will update my review in accordance with my results but I have listed some points below about my experience.

Happy with:
- CV looks good and professionally written (Some issues down in the cons).
- Cover letter also looked good and professionally written

Unhappy with:
- My Linkedin was not spent enough time on by the professional, they only delivered the first draft then my time was up. They missed out on any amendments from two of my positions so was pretty disappointed with this.
- I was given an American professional, I don't have a problem with this per say but I do have a problem with the Americanisation of my CV using American spelling of words like Analyse with a Z etc, there were a few of these on my documents which I had to amend which I shouldn't be having to do after paying my money for this service. They did not take into account I am UK based they also called my CV a Resume in the title of the document, we use CV here so I had to alter this in the files properties as when opened in a browser for PDF it was headed in the tab as Resume.
- Although I am overall happy I was expecting a bit better service and product, I am currently having trouble with ROI (Return on investment) adding it to my CV., so I thought this service would help with that but beyond the questionnaire I originally filled out there were no further questions or probes about how I could add this. I don't have hard percentages or numbers to qualify what I have done in the past. So this may be a me thing they aren't a magic fix it service but I did expect some more probing and follow up.

I have just put the CV I got from this company through a trusted website ATS Resumeworded, I found that my score was actually lower than my previous CV that I created 48 to now 42 a reduction of 6 points. With taking this into account it doesn't appear that the CV provided to me is ATS optimised so I am lowering the score by a star and I will reach out to the company as this is disappointing.

After a few months of running this CV created by this company It hasn't improved my chances of a job. I actually think its hindered my chances, I still find the odd mistake here and there wrong spelling, american spellings and experience I do not actually have. I am going back to my orginal CV at least I know it is free from errors such as the above or as much as possible and my experience is my experience not what they have just copied from a job description I sent them. I would never use a CV writing service again, it was a waste of time and money. I did email them and after some back and forth they just told me my CV was optimised for an ATS and that was that, terrible after sales support and again a waste of time and money.

I never usualy write reviews but i’ve never felt so ripped off by anything i’ve paid for in my entire life. I’m furious.

I’m currently stuck in a very demanding job that I hate and my life outside of work is so busy that I’m struggling to find the time to keep crafting resumes and cover letters for all the jobs I want to apply for. I thought using this service would help me quickly apply for a few jobs I had my eyes on and then after that, I thought i’d have a much stronger resume and LinkedIn profile I could adapt to apply for other roles quicker.

I thought I could trust this company due to the quality of their resume.io website that i’ve been using for the last few years. What a mistake.

For some background about my career, I’m currently working in green tech but my life outside of work is dedicated to music and i’ve studied sound technology at university. I’ve been trying and failing to find a role in the music industry for years. I’ve recently turned my attention to trying to start a career path in sync/music supervision. Many of the entry level roles for this career path are administrative; often positions such as royalties administrators or copyright assistants.

The writer clearly hasn't read and seemed determined not to read the job listings i shared with him that I want to apply for. Instead he gave me a generic music resume and cover letter - i could have found a similar template on the internet myself for free.

None of the jobs i’ve shared actually ask for music skills - they're all administrative roles within a music environment. So the skills they've asked for include things like attention to detail, being good with data, strong written communication, organisation etc. It would have been easy for the writer to pull out examples of these from my old resume and notes I shared with him. Instead, the writer has totally ignored the skills and experience the jobs I want to apply for have asked for, and instead talked exclusively about unrelated music skills like mixing, mastering, live sound etc.

As a so called professional writer I'm astounded by his lack of knowledge about the job application process. One of the golden rules is to not clutter a resume and cover letter with skills and experience that aren’t relevant to the job you're applying for, yet in my first draft the writer didn't mention a single skill or piece of experience that aligned with the jobs i’ve shared and mentioned some of the unrelated music skills three seperate times. This would never get past ATS, as they haven't mirrored any language or key skills from the job listings i’ve shared.

After my first draft came back i pointed out that he hadnt mentioned any relevant skills and experience. So their solution was to crowbar in a couple of my suggestions into sentences, which meant they now make no sense. For example:

“Refined communicator with exceptional organisation and attention to detail skills; committed to engaging in live gigs and club nights to keep abreast of the latest developments in the music scene.” 
 
These are two unrelated points so not sure why they’ve been merged them with a semi colon? Doesn't make sense.   

Overall, the quality of writing is poor. It’s generic. Large sections are overly wordy and sound like they were written by chatgpt. I did an AI test and it said 45% was written by AI.

I’ve spent most of my spare time over the past few weeks trying to analyse the documents he’s given to me, list all the mistakes, then draft up responses. This has taken up more of my time than if i’d have written the job applications myself.

There's no discussion. I thought we’d be able to bounce ideas off each other but the writer avoids most of my questions and suggestions. And he clearly hasn’t listened to my requirements.

Overall it's failed on all fronts:

1. It hasn't sped up my job search. Its actually slowed it down. In the time i’ve spent dealing with this i’ve missed all of the jobs i wanted to apply for.
2. It hasn't given me anything i can use. Large portions of it are obviously generated by a chatbot. If employers use the same AI checker i used they’ll reject my resume. Even if they don’t used an AI checker, the resume doesn’t mirror any of the language or mention any of the skills or experience necessary for the jobs i want to apply for, so it will probably be rejected by ATS.

The whole package cost nearly £200. Charging that price for such poor service is a scam. I’ll be seeking a refund.

UPDATE: They're pretending they can't find my order or email to them. I emailed them before I posted this, from the same email address, with my order number. I'll give them 24 more hours before I get my card company involved. Order number is #24D1622491.

"I am software developer"

I am software developer. Asked these guys to review my CV. What they produced is complete garbage. Put a number of standard hyped buzzwords, removed important things... It was so bad that there was no chance they could do better as it looked whoever did the job has no idea about IT or software development at all.

My original CV is 100x times better.

I am asked for refund but they refuse referencing some policies which contradict UK consumer laws which state I am entitled for refund within 30 days if I am not satisfied with the quality of service.

Don't waste your time.
