Fast, professional work. My new CV introduced me in a way I never thought I could be written about. It makes me feel valuable.

"Worth every penny."
Top CV initially was introduced to me via CV Library and pointed out how week my CV was and why. The process is simple and straightforward and faster than predicted, the results did not disappoint and really made a complete transformation of my CV.

"Probably just an automated system with an underpaid worker hitting buttons"
What can I say - I should've trusted the other 1-2 star reviews. The 5 star ones are clearly all fake. To give you some context - I am a software engineer, so I asked for a software engineer CV. What I got instead was a buzzword-filled essay that read like it was written by an outdated version of ChatGPT. Some points literally didn't even make any sense. To give you some examples:
"Implemented Agile methodologies..." - what am I, a scrum master? This is just made up.
"Executed frontend in WPF..." - how do you execute a frontend?
"My proficiency in C#, SQL, and XML programming languages..." - XML is not a programming language...
They promise an industry expert to rewrite your CV, but the person I got had no idea about software engineering, and clearly relied on templates and heavy automation. As a software engineer I specialize in process automation, so I recognize and automated system when I see one - the person was just filling in a template with my details and clicking buttons to generate generic responses to my questions and remarks.
Tl;dr, you'd be better off just asking ChatGPT for tips than TopCV.

"Save your money."
MY CV looks like it has been put into an AI bot. It MAY get through an ATS checker but I seriously doubt any human would subsequently find it very readable or relatable to me. After having my doubts, I took it to a professional (human) CV writer who I discussed it with over the phone and he absolutely tore it to shreds. I feel like I have been ripped off.

"Don't waste your hard earned money with…"
Don't waste your hard earned money with Top CV. All the positive reviews are not a reflection of the service I have had.
1. Draft cv arrived a day late. CC writer was rather casual with his task.I did mention that I have two job application with a deadline of 2nd and 4th December. There was no apology or explanation from the cv writer. He stated we have plenty of time.
1a. There is a 24 hour gap in getting a response. The reply is received at about 5am-5.30am. It appears the cv writer is not UK based and he has no idea of my current job responsibilities. He was not able to extract the essence of my current role even though it was detailed.
2.Questions to the cv writer, Amos were not answered till I pointer out the deficiencies.
2. The cv writer, Amos cannot ascertain what I have achieved from each jobs I had even though it was spelled out.
3. 'We have found your perfect cv writer' as per the email. 'It's our privilege to work with you.'
4.The correspondence from Top CV is full of fancy words that do not aline with the draft cv and letter from the cv writer. It is obvious that that specific words have been choosen from the computer in drafting my letter. Here're the glaring mistakes.
'Looking To Hearing From You!' 'Sincerly Corina'
5. Harvard University has advised not to use flowery language in cv and cover letter.
6.I have just found a platform full of scams from Top CV. Wish I did my research earlier.
6a. I found a thread where a respondent used to work for Top CV. She said Top CV do have good people but the majority are not. The paid is not good and CVs generated are prescriptive. The responses from the cv writer are mechanical as per my experience.
6a. In one of the negative reviews, (I didn't read all of it) the incumbent stated that a monthly direct debit was taken put of his account by Top CV.
6b. I have spoken to someone on the Gram who had used Top CV. He t9ld me that the cv produced by Top CV was of poor quality and he didn't get his refund despite emails to Top CV.
7. I received an email from a lady called Pal, Top CV after I rang and complained about the poor service I've received. Pal, is that a real name?
8.I will ask my bank to cancel the payment if Top CV decline to give me a refund or they ignore my written request for a refund. I will forward the evidence to my bank.
Hello TopCV,
Thank you for your reply. I have viewed Shane's draft cover letter and my cv profile with interest. I note TopCV 's prescriptive script and the flowery language, again being used. The glaring mistakes do not exactly tally with my current role and I would struggle to explain myself in the vetting screening or interview. Being a post Black Friday, I'm feeling charitable and wish Amos, Shane, Pal, Brian and Katie Warren at TopCV a wonderful week and do have a drink on me. My payment of £129 for a crafted cv or should I add, two prescriptive CVs in flowery language with glaring mistakes including wrong punctuation should buy you a decent bottle of champagne. I crafted my own cv thanks to someone who has been kind enough to point me to a source. It's Free.
Don't Waste your Money on TopCV. Their crafted CVs is prescriptive with long, flowery words that do not match your current role. TopCV is littered with positive reviews only and one cannot leave a review on their website. You will be asked to edit the cv they've 'crafted for you' and you will spend hours of editing ot and doing the round robin of going back and forth for their lack lustre, prescriptive replies with words picked from cv writing software.

"AI generated service and a simple update and reformat to a CV"
For the money you pay, you would expect a customised written cover letter and thank you letter but instead you will receive AI generated versions. When you catch them out they provide another one! (i know because i used ChatGPT to write cover letters)
The CV was changed, information condensed and it was reformatted, it looked ok but from my knowledge of the ATS that recruiters use, the software will not recognise tables, so no matter what 'action' words this company says they have used to make you an achiever 'rather' than a 'doer', it may be 'problematic'.
I belive the positive reviews here maybe specific to the individual they were assigned (they all cant be bad right?) or simply due to the naivety of the customer when they get a different looking CV from what they had but from my experience the expectations this company set are certainly not met. I do regret not reseraching more before going with this company and cannot shake the thought that this company does not use western individuals with relevcant expereince but cheap labout from India or some other parts of Asia who have probarbly been given a guidance document or template which they use for everybody.
I emphasise that you will not get a customised service. Despite giving them information and a very detailed LinkedIn acount, it should have been a very easy exercise to connect that with the industry but instead you will get something looking new but with no real substance. They will just rehash what you give them and remove some parts.
