Do not use! This company is a joke. Our landlord had requested we use them and we hadn't thought much of it. 1 year later our house started falling apart and became unlivable according to the council health and safety officer. We tried to get some of our deposit back and he landlord refused.
Mydeposits literally have no power. They provide no protection whatsoever. In the contracts it literally says the landlord can simply choose not to agree to use them if tenants wish to pursue deposit retrieval.
Do not use them. They are a joke and provide no deposit protection from my experience.

Landlord submitted evidence on areas that were not part of the original dispute clearly in order to detract as much money as possible. This is a major change to the dispute process, it puts at high risk the deposit and should be notified to the tenants accordingly. Instead we were only given 3 days to comment on totally new issues and it is way too little time to go through substantial amount of information. As a consequence we, the tenants, suffered a loss of money and this was totally undue. Tenants should be appropriately notified if new areas for claims are submitted by the Landlord and the adjudicator takes them into account. Otherwise the process can be very easily unbalanced in favour of a Landlord looking to withhold as much money as possible from the deposit.

Useless. Not protecting the tenant at all. I have been waiting for the return of my deposit for over 35 days, the landlord is not replying and they advised me to go to solicitor that I will have to pay for myself. The lady had to put me on hold 3 times and was not able to answer any simple questions. Money makers, that's all, do not recommend!

"No real improvement in 10 years"
Note, this is a genuine review. We're landlords who have been using for many years and are NRLA members. The customer service at mydeposits is often lacking. Their notifications are often nonsensical, not even including the property or deposit certificate number. They also send a lot of emails from an "unmonitored" email address which feels misleading, and they don't offer any valid contact email address in those bulk emails they send out. Raised the issues with them, but customer service were unwilling to escalate the issues to the management or IT team to fix. This is one of our deposits DPC05495192
