"Parts of the trip were great"

Parts of the trip were great, we enjoyed Mexico City, some of the ruins, the chocolate making, and Playa area especially the beach time and snorkeling.
Parts of the trip was not so great. 1/2 of our hotels did not have a pool, we spent waaaayyyy too much time on a bus. After we left Mexico City the rest of the days were long bus rides 4 to 6 hours with an activity such as chocolate making or visit ruins and then 1 night in a hotel. This was repeated day after day until we got to Playa Del Carmen. One of the students told me he could sum up this trip in 1 word: BUS. I sell my trips as being adrenaline filled with awesome activities such as white water rafting, zip lining, snorkeling, etc. We did very little of that on this trip, we were just looking at stuff. The hotel room in Campeche was not very good. Most of the hotels had hard beds with overstuffed pillows. The hotels we enjoyed were Palenque, Mexico City (but no pool) and the Comfort Inn in Mirada.
The food was good in Playa del Carmen (at the beach), at the Cenote, and in Campehce.
My son and I were sore from all the sitting on the bus that we did. Some of the guides were hard to understand.

"Ivo was an AMAZING tour guide"

Ivo was an AMAZING tour guide. We didn't need to stop in Lichenstein or Innsbruck. We should have had more time at Daccau and Munich.
Great bus driver (Joseph). Again, Ivo was so great- friendly, knowledgeable and professional.

"Our original agenda had "2 days" in…"

Our original agenda had "2 days" in Mexico City, but because of the flight we were put on, we did not arrive in Mexico City until very late, thus missing the Mexico City walking Tour. I understand the current stress on the airlines, but more attention should be paid to flight times so that tours, even walking tours, do not get missed. I also understand that due to COVID we were unable to enter the Palacio Nacional on day 2 to see the Diego Rivera Murals. That was not the fault of Explorica, but a heads up before the trip would have been greatly appreciated. Maybe we could have found time to enter the Palacio de Bellas Artes to view his mural there instead. We walked right by it on day 2. I also did not appreciate that we were unable to visit the *Nace el Agua falls due to a very tight and exhausting bus trip to Veracruz. I understand that a walking tour was added to act as a substitute, but maybe don't add it to the tour if realistically, it cannot be visited.
ALL of the guided tours were great! Ana maria did a fabulous job getting our guides lined up. (It was a shame that at times we could not hear the guides due to the misbehaving jr, high students we traveled with. Their adults should have done a better job with asking them to pay attention or simply be quiet. I don''t fault Exlporica for that other than to emphasize the need for manners in the teacher literature prior to the trip.)
And finally, the change from the Ikkil cenote to the Chokum cenote was an excellent idea and should be the advertised cenote for all tours. We were also VERY grateful to *snorkel as a replacement for the Nace el Agua falls, so maybe just make that a permanent replacement too.
And finally, most of the meals were delicious, even for the pickiest eaters, but there were just too many eggs served at breakfast when there was no buffet. Maybe pancakes or French toast could also be offered. I also think that if the company supplied the tour guide with about 10 copies of the roster of travelers, it would be easier for them to keep track of the selections we made for each dinner ahead of time. Ana Maria had to always rely on the hotel rooming list for a list of our names. It sometimes got confusing as to where we should write our selection. It was a clever use of the room list, however, issuing her a set of our names on a spreadsheet for her clipboard would have been more efficient.

"Extraordinary educational experience…"

Extraordinary educational experience our students had on the Explorica trip to Panama, from June 18 to June 23. On this trip to Panama, we have learned about the economy, history, geography, and wildly different lifestyles of people. Also, culture and tradition. This trip to Panama helped my students and me gather wisdom by understanding real-life experiences.
Every day I have seen how grateful parents are for giving them this opportunity. Likewise, I am sure our students have gained a lifetime of experience on this trip.

"As the parent paying for this"

As the parent paying for this, I was less than impressed with your information, cost, and accuracy. The "professional" tour bus was an HOUR late.. why? They didn't know there was a time change. Then the bus broke down.. I suppose the excuse you can't know about these emergencies however, I am pretty sure they knew Stop signs are required to stop at.. not optional.. like the one they drove through as I sat behind watching them. Your cost for product/services was added to because we needed a tour guide fee as well. And then I was informed our students were required to pay out of pocket for meals. This trip landed in at just short of 700.00 for a 2 day trip. For a bus that was down graded because of a breakdown. The students slept 4 to a room, ending in my child sleeping the FLOOR for comfort. National Monuments and parks do not have an entrance fee. So at 350.00 a day I'm not clear on what services I paid for... because at best a 4 person room should have cost him 75.00... it wasn't a stellar room or ammenities. In all honesty had I known it was going to require an additional 100.00 for food and this was the best that you could do... I would not have sent him on this trip, for the 800.00 our ENTIRE family could have enjoyed a family trip and made memories. While he had fun, I'm not sure it was to the value. But,
I'm really glad you guys made a solid 40 grand off of our students and families!!
