"Paid ESA registries are not it yall. NO SD REGISTRIES EXIST IN THE US CURRENTLY"
Look, this isn’t what you think it is and you don’t have to pay a strange business for an ESA letter: If you are disabled and wish to certify your pet as an ESA for housing purposes, you can do this easily with your licensed psychotherapist or MD; for the low cost of free ninety nine or the price of a visit copay your pet can become your ESA if you’re disabled and it’s medically relevant.
Legally there are no United States backed government official registries for service animals; per the ADA you must have a disability and your dog must be task trained with at least one or more mitigating tasks RELEVANT TO YOUR disability needs. Aka ya can’t just teach your dog random service tasks and call it a day or pay for a card and a vest and bring your untrained animal wherever. This includes airline travel which adheres to a different federal/airspace entity entirely; your dog must still be held to the same ADA or even stricter guidelines and must have a RELEVANT TASK to mitigate YOUR SPECIFIC disability.
EMOTIONAL
SUPPORT
IS
NOT
A
TASK.
ESA is not a service pet, it is emotional support animal not emotional service animal. ESA and task trained psychiatric service dogs are NOT the same thing.
Stop paying. For this. If you want. A service dog. Or an ESA. It won’t work.
Put in the work with an ethical trainer or waitlist yourself for a program dog from reputable orgs but this ain’t one of them. You can’t have a SD or ESA either if YOU ARE NOT DISABLED.
Don’t get scammed like my poor friend did with her ESA cat and dog.
