"Disgusting Service - Do Not Touch!"
My son a new driver insured his car with this company (brokers) and after 2 weeks we decided to cancel as got a cheaper insurance elsewhere with multi-car.......we cancelled on the 4th February this year and still waiting for nearly 800 pounds to come back. They have taken nearly 500 in fees and not justified why and when we ring up to ask for money you get rude ignorant staff that do not seem to care about our predicament answering the phone with as much use as a 'chocolate teapot'.......My son earnt every single penny of his money and now has to wait 6 weeks for the privilege of having it returned. If you want our advice go and find another business that is much more willing to help you and give you help rather than antagonise people into having to write these reviews as they have been poorly dealt with.

"High charges and poor service"
Sky insurance along with most companies nowadays hide behind terms and conditions and dont give a hoot about customers.
I renewed my policy with them in January 15 on the basis that theire quotation was the cheapest and only on that basis. My partner passed his test and when i tried to add him to the policy i was met with all sorts of charges that just escalated the price and then they wouldn't cover him on the insurance as he had only just passed his test, they recommended another policy but turned out that was not suitable either and when i tried to cancel the charges were hyped up, £90 commision and £50+ admin fee meant i would only get back around £60-£70 of a £450 policy. Ive dealt with many many insurance companies over the years and this company has some of the highest fees and charges - Maybe thats how the cheap policies are maintained.
Its also true that when taking a policy out with them the service is quick and friendly, However if you call to make an ammendment or to cancel then expect to wait 20+ minutes and then we do get through to a 'person' dont expect a friendly chit chat, if you get the advisor i spoke to then expect to be challenged on everything you say and a good helping of rudness and dis-interest.
Me, Personally i wouldnt use them ever ever again ever even if they offered me a free policy. Sky insurance dont adopt a 'human approach' or cap their charges and just hide behind terms and conditions.

30 minutes wait on each call to get rude service. Tried to cancel after a week but £150 of charges. No 14 day cooling off for them apparently!

"First Time Insurance"
I rung this company who offered me a policy for my daughter who is a learner driver, the policy covers provisional insurance but once she passes, the insurance fee doesnot change, ie so we pay a one off insurance fee which covers her from provisional to full, also she builds up her no claims bonus. Car has to be fitted with a black box but with no restrictions, I spoke to Nick really helpful, always called me back when I asked, no waiting for ages to be put through when I first called, really impressed, policy is underwritten by Aviva. After making lots of phone calls this is the only policy I found that offers the above.

"Poor service and cancellation charges"
Paid £350 insurance 3 weeks ago. Decided to cancel after purchasing new car. Got back £186.
They also charge £50 admin charge for setting up the policy, non-refundable. Charge another £50 to cancel the policy, then deduct 100% of the commission they earned, and then deduct the insurance premium for the time used.
They were the cheapest, but charge excessive fees to cancel.
Customer service also not the best - they don't call back and take ages to pick up the phone to arrange a cancellation, but pick up in seconds when it is a new policy.

Customer service is horrible, waited almost 30 minutes when asked to call back. You can see those people are the only busiest people on earth, our time has no value. What a shame on best policy, best insurance and best service quote.

"Never a Problem"
I have never had to claim so I don't know what the claims department is like, but every time you have to call you always talk to someone who know what they are talking about.
They know about cars which sounds funny but some insurance companies just don't bother but every time just seems like SKY make it personal, been with them 2 years and hope to be with them a third come renewal, had to do a change of vehicle and apart from a admin fee was done with no fuss. I asked for a copy of the insurance documents by email and 2 minuets after the call I had it in my email box and i was off to buy my tax.
They are a small company and are not going to be competitive for everyone but if you are a car enthusiast they might be the people for you.
