"These Aren't the Original Global Shopaholic Owners or Managers. Beware!"

This used to be a great company, but the original crew is gone and all that's left are a bunch of incompetent chat bots, shipping that doesn't communicate with storage, and it takes at least a week to get a response. After so many delays, lost storage items, a half dozen cancellations, gouging shipping costs, more lost items, and promises to hold what was left until after the 30-day initial pandemic period when all shipping and deliveries were halted here in Costa Rica, GlobalShopaholics literally stole more than $650 worth of property and tried to tell me it had been destroyed because I took too long to process delivery.

I've been a customer for years and spent $thousands to have large and small packages delivered to Costa Rica. At first, the crew was amazing, but it was a new company and they were trying to impress. They did. Never had a problem. Ordered whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted, then consolidated the items in storage, paid reasonable prices for shipping and handling, and received my things right away. This went on for years. Then one day, everything turned for the worst.
In November, 2019, I shopped early for Christmas, ordered everything from collectors items to knickknacks, and had them shipped to GS. Then, I consolidated them from online storage to shipping and received a quote for $470. I tried to pay with bitcoin, but delays in their payment processing led to the shipment being canceled. Normally, the items would go back to my account storage. They didn't. GS CS claimed that moving their warehouse to another address probably caused my things to temporarily go missing. A few weeks later, and still nothing. In mid December, and after a lot of back and forth on chat, they found my items and returned them to storage. Unfortunately, it was too late. I was already back in the US with family and re-shopping for holiday gifts to bring back to friends in Costa Rica. Two weeks later (January, 2020), I returned to Costa Rica, logged on to my account, and attempted to prepare my GS order only to discover the price for shipping to Costa Rica had skyrocketed to $12,000.
We haggled back and forth and GS took days, sometimes a week, to respond to emails or answer chats. After telling me to cancel the shipment, they promised to repack it for cheaper shipping. That effort also took two weeks and the final tally came to $1,400, or $1,000 more than the original quote. I told them to forget the international shipping, change the label to my address in Las Vegas, and be done with it. Had I known the company was going through so much turmoil during the holidays with a move and new hires, I would have simply taken the free shipping offered by merchants.
Believe it or not, they lost my things again. I was livid. I wrote Jawad in shipping and visited the chat daily. Then in late February, my things magically reappeared in my online storage. I consolidated them for US shipping and a week later finally received a quote for $670.
Then, came the pandemic. I wrote to GS right away to inform them that Costa Rica was NOT accepting any shipments. Their response? "Your items will be returned to storage, but you must pay a late fee and a storage fee, or your items will no longer be available." I wrote directly to Stephen Morris to explain I had lost my job and that I needed to save every dime. He replied, "No problem. We'll give you another 30 days."
That was a lie, because 10 days later I got a remote job, realized I would be financially stable, and was ready to pay. Except, my things were gone... again.
I wrote, visited the chat, and called, with no response. Finally, Stephen wrote to say they had lost my items, but no worries, he would find them. He just needed the shipping ID. What? They were still in storage. There was no shipping ID. More weeks passed. I wrote to them every few days, visited the chat, and rarely got a response except to say, "We're working hard to resolve this issue."
A month passed when I was finally informed that without the shipping ID and numerous delays that my things had been destroyed. It was policy.
How convenient! Lose the items, delay the process by not answering emails and chats. Shipping doesn't communicate with storage and storage doesn't communicate with shipping, and even if you get it in writing that they'll hold your things until after the initial 30-day period from the onset of the pandemic, they lose your things, blame it on you, and then "destroy" them.
I still have the emails that admit delays due to moving and promises to wait until after the pandemic. But, the shipping guy (Jawad) says that directives came from the storage guy (Stephen) and that he made a mistake by not following through.
These are the most dishonest and incompetent people ever and you shouldn't trust your possessions with them. They're thieves, liars, and scoundrels.

"AVOID THEM or Lose your peace"

Update on Aug 29, 2020 -
The original issue I reported below has been resolved. Now I have another issue with another shipment. Mr Jawad told me to first remove this review or he will not help. !!!!! This is how they treat the customer. They make it feels like they are doing a favour to me by helping solve the issue they created in the first place.

**************************************************************
Update 13 Aug 2020:
Mr Jawad from the company contact me after seeing this review and he has confirmed that they have received my payment of $636. I will update once my package is shipped out.

************************************************************

Have been using them for last 10 month for more than 19 shipments. Never had any major issue until recently.

For one of my recent shipment they asked me to send the payment via bank transfer (as the shipping charges were more than $500) and now they say that the payment was never received. I have checked and confirmed with my bank 3 times to ensure the payment was sent to their correct CITIBANK account.

They no longer reply to my emails.
