"Dangerous and a rip off!!"

My boyfriend booked Iceland for my birthday and with the trip he alsobought a rental car for the weekend from here. The process of actually getting the car was an easy and helpful process, so can’t fault the company too much in this sense. However, it went down hill from here. My boyfriend paid for a ‘Volkswagen Polo or similar’ and we received a Hyundai, which wouldn’t have been a problem but this was a cheaper option on the website. It was my boyfriends first time driving in Iceland (where they drive on the opposite side to the UK), and he was already fairly nervous. We had a 40 minute drive to our hotel in Reykjavík, and the entire journey was a struggle. As soon as we got onto the road, we realised there was something not quite right with the clutch. Every time we needed to change gear we had to almost slam the gear stick into place. It shouldn’t take the amount of effort it did just to change gear, and we genuinely felt as if this was a dangerous car to be driving and a fault within the car. At this point we just wanted to get to the hotel and park up. We decided not to contact the company whilst on our trip, as we were only there for 3 days and had things booked so there was no time to travel all the way back to the rental place and sort the issue out. We didn’t use the car the whole trip until we had to drive it back before our flight to hand it back in, and even this we were reluctant to do. We couldn’t speak to an individual at the organisation when handing it back in as the building was closed. We wrote a complaint when we arrived home, and all we have received is 10% off our next visit, however I can assure you, we won’t be using this service again.

"Aldrig mere Ice Rental Cars!"

Vi er absolut ikke tilfredse med Ice Rental Cars.

Bilen vi fik udleveret, havde kørt over 150.000 km og var godt brugt og slidt. Blandt andet havde den to reparerede stenslag i forruden.

Da vi afleverede bilen, blev vi opkrævet 1500 kr. for de to stenslag, da de ikke var registreret i Ice Rental Cars papirer. Vi argumenterede, at stenslagene havde været der fra start og jo var reparerede, men dette blev totalt afvist. Oveni dette tog det omkring tre kvarter at aflevere bilen. Da vi havde et fly at nå, var vi nødt til at betale den ekstra udgift for at komme videre.

Den lovede shuttlebus, som skulle køre til lufthavnen fra Ice Rental Cars kontor hver halve time, dukkede aldrig op, og vi var nødt til at gå til lufthavnen med al vores bagage.

Alt i alt var det en rigtig dårlig oplevelse at leje bil hos Ice Rental Cars.

"Kundeservice en by i Rusland"

Når man kommer til en fremmed lufthavn og der ingen skilte er med jeres navn, heller ikke på oversigten, og der ingen repræsentant er med et skilt bliver man godt og grundigt nervøs for om man er blevet snydt. Efter at have spurgt alverden efter jer og fundet et tlf nr får vi endelig fat i jer og i afhenter os i lufthavnen og kører os til etkontor nogle kilometer væk. Her venter vi yderligere en time på bilen. Bilen var ok, men vi booker aldrig mere med jer - kun med selskaber som har kontor i lufthavnen.
