"Chaos at Newquay airport"
Waited three hours for delayed flight at at Newquay due to ‘staff sickness’ and then then just as the luggage loaded and we were all ready to board the flight was cancelled. We were rebooked for a flight the next morning but then waited 2.5 hours while airline staff promised to book us hotels and taxis. They told us the Manager who had the credit card to pay for hotels for stranded passengers was on holiday so they couldn’t book us anything. No food or water offered. The staff were very nice but not equipped to do their jobs which made it all very stressful. 2 stars because my inbound flight ran without incident but looking at the other reviews it seems like flying with these guys is a cancellation lottery.

"Absolutely terrible"
Told on arrival that flight was delayed by two hours. The display board said gate details would be announced at 8.30. Instead at 8.30pm they said the flight was cancelled. By leaving it so long it left travellers with no other options for getting to Cornwall. No coaches or hotels were offered as they were 'all busy'. Some passengers had nowhere to stay in London for the night or had children or jobs to get home to. There was no offer of being put on another flight the next day. It was unclear if people would get refunded for having to book a flight the following day which was much more expensive at the last minute. No one from the airline was actually there, it was just someone else passing on messages so unable to help with anything. It took a while to even leave the airport as we had to wait for security. AVOID AT ALL COSTS - if you're travelling to Newquay - the train is worth it.

"Small claims court ..."
Cutting a long story short they failed to notify us of our cancelled flight Orly to EMA, offered ZERO assistance at the airport, we had to book a hotel at our own expense to find in the morning they'd also cancelled the next flight (with zero notification) Again at our own expense arranged other flights from CDG to Leeds & taxi from there home!
The customer service is non existent staff not interested, agreed to compensation & expenses claim paid within 28 working days (still too long takes 5 minutes to do a BACS transfer) Yet still waiting after that!
I won't give up even if it means small claims court they are an utter SHAM!

"Humberside to Newquay Fiasco"
Humberside to Newquay flight this morning. Checked in at Humberside at 11.00 a.m. Sent in taxis to East Midlands Airport. Given the run around until 5.00 p.m. then told the flight is cancelled. Awaiting options to be decided by Eastern Airways which were more taxis to a hotel in Derby where we did not arrive until 9.15 p.m. Offered the first free food/drink of the day. Told will be flying out at 9.15 tomorrow morning so another early start to get back to East Midlands Airport. Bloody shambolic outfit. I take back everything I have said about Ryan Air. I doubt Eastern Airways will be flying by the coming Christmas.

"Never bother with reviews"
Never bother with reviews. But I’m going out of my way for Eastern Airways. Had a flight ✈️ from Southampton to Paris and return. The staff went above and beyond. We took two young kids to Disneyland on their 1st flight. Staff were very friendly and great with the kids both ways. Thank eastern airways and your staff

"A Reason Not to Use Eastern Airways"
Full fare flight Southampton to Orly. I was alerted to a delay of c 60 mins by departure screens at check in. On mentioning this to ground staff, l was surprised to learn that they were unaware of any disruption. No announcements were made and there was no communication between staff and passengers.
The flight eventually departed SOU c 70 mins late. Pilot made a brief reference to the delay, apparently caused by a late departure of a preceding flight.
On arrival at ORY, info screens directed passengers to the appropriate reclaim carousel. Baggage delivery was over one hour late. During the wait, there was no explanation and no contact with staff of any kind. Eastern Airways customer service in the UK was closed when I attempted to call them. Eventually, a fellow passenger managed to contact the operations team at ORY and the bags appeared soon after.
The combined delay was over 2 hours, severely impacting onward travel.
I emailed Eastern Airways customer service, expressing my concerns re poor communication and the baggage delay. I received a reply 8 days later. Their operative claimed that the delay in baggage delivery was due to, (direct quote), "there was an error in Orly Airport that day where staff was not aware that there was a delivery of bags," Apart from the poor grammar, this is clearly a contrived excuse as the info screens reported an imminent delivery of bags during the entire wait at the carousel. No further attempt was made to address my other concerns.
I have no other issues with the flight itself, or the equipment used. Whilst I appreciate that delays occur, it is frustrating that a lack of professionalism and poorly trained ancillary staff, can undermine what is a very useful link from Southampton. I shall not be using Eastern Airways again and would recommend caution when considering booking with this company

"Very poor customer service"
Very poor customer service. asked for special assitance for a disabled passenger and the whole thing was a complete disaster. Sent a few emails which was just written off and very abrupt. Have now written to the managing director and will take to CAA if needs be. Such a shame

"I spoke to a lady named Debbie and a…"
I spoke to a lady named Debbie and a lady named Alice when I phoned customer services, they were amazing and the problems I had were dealt with to my complete satisfaction. They both deserve a bonus for being friendly, understanding and efficient. I did speak to one other lady, she didn't give me her name and she was a bit brusque and unhelpful, but two out of three isn't bad. I have never had a problem with Eastern, sometimes there are delays, but that's life, Well done Eastern Airways and a special thank you to Debbie and Alice.

"Would use again"
We travelled Humberside > Esbjerg return. Flights arrived on time (outbound left slightly late), staff were faultlessly friendly, and the zero-stress experience of small airports was great.
In both directions we had to put hand luggage in the hold with our hold bags, but keep electrical items on us - not a problem.
I'd recommend avoiding the single seats as the shape of the aircraft means you end up twisted in your seat because the floor isn't level. Twin seats, great.
Picking up and dropping back a hire car at Esbjerg was also the fastest and least painful car rental experience imaginable.
I can see from other reviews that when things go wrong with Eastern they do really seem to go wrong, but when they go right - brilliant!
