I contacted customer service regarding the free pillows that everyone was talking about in the YouTube review videos of Yogabed and they said it was just a special they ran but were willing to give us the 2 free pillows anyways. We were very excited and LOVE the new pillows. We have only slept on the yogabed for 3 nights but so far we like it. It takes time to get used to, and is more firm than we originally anticipated but it’s growing on us. We plan to give it a few months and see how we like it then. The smell (off-gassing) was very very minimal and it’s very nice looking. So far, great products and customer service. We are very satisfied!!

I had an issue with my bed that the Marpac team took very seriously, and addressed immediately. I was very happy with my bed and then noticed that there was an issue with the mattress. Upon telling them, they took immediate action, and I am eternally grateful. I will continue to recommend them 100% to my friends/family.

"My thoughts, almost 2 years in"

First off, I had a great experience with their customer service when I ordered this bed in July 2016. There was a delay in shipping, and another minor snafu, and the customer service rep stayed in contact with me and gave me a small discount to make up for the inconvenience.

When I received my bed, it was pretty much love at first sight. It expanded quickly, with pretty much no foam or plastic smell, and I put the pillows into rotation as well. I had a back injury at the time, and I credit my yogabed as being instrumental to my recovery. I find the bed to be extremely helpful because it doesn’t irritate my many fibromyalgia pressure points and it allows my back to truly relax. Also I have spondylitis and some other back issues and it seems to have prevented any major flare ups which I used to get fairly regularly as I work a very physical job.

I am not a small person—I am over 200 lbs (closer to 300 in fact)—and I find this bed to be very soft once it adjusts to body temp... but not in a bad way. While being soft, it also remains supportive. I mostly sleep on my back but sometimes on my side as well and it never feels like a hammock or like I’m “bottoming out”. It is also breathable and I don’t wake up hot or sweaty.

I have stayed in hotels with supposedly good beds and most of them were just okay and many gave me terrible backaches. I couldn’t wait to get back to sleeping on my own bed! Even while staying at a fancy resort renowned for its luxury beds in August of 2016 and 2017, I was not that impressed and missed my yogabed!

My one warning to larger people... the edges do collapse and slope a bit with pressure, so if you sleep with another person (or with big dogs, lol) you may want to buy the bed in one size larger than you’re used to. When my boyfriend visits I usually end up wishing that my bed was a king size instead, just to get a bit more space side to side for us and the cats before the edges start to slope. That said, I’ve never rolled off or anything. If we end up moving in together I would like to get a king size yogabed and have this queen in the guest room.

When guests come to stay I offer them my bed and they always have enjoyed the experience as well!

I’m still using the pillows too and they do the job, though I do layer one of them with a more fluffy memory foam pillow because I have asthma and prefer to keep my head elevated just a bit.

Speaking of asthma, I LOVE how easy it is to remove the top mattress cover for cleaning. You just unzip and the top comes off, so it’s been machine washed and dried probably once every month or two with no issues at all. I spray it with Puracy enzyme stain remover to get any little spots out and it washes up good as new. I used to have an IKEA memory foam bed that looked similar to the yogabed (but not as comfy) and it was so dang hard to wash the cover... I simply dreaded removing it and putting it back on and it held onto stains like crazy! With the yogabed it’s not much more difficult than pulling off the sheets and I love having that clean, fresh, cushy cover.

I also have the yogabed foundation as well and it’s been pretty good. It was a snap to put together as a single woman. I actually moved with it in 2017 too and was really glad I could just break it down and put it in a box and then reassemble at my new place. It has started to squeak a bit on the side where I usually sleep so I may rotate it soon. (Keep in mind though that I’m pretty heavy though so a little squeaking isn’t too bad at all considering the kind of wear it gets.) Just watch your feet though because the rounded plastic legs sit close to the edge and it’s not too difficult to stub your toes on them.

Overall I’m glad I invested in the yogabed instead of going with a cheap amazon bed or similar. And I’m really glad I didn’t spend more, thinking I HAD to in order to get great rest. Sleep is SO important and I’m truly having some of the best sleep of my life right now with the yogabed.

"Side sleepers and belly sleepers Beware!"

I have not fallen under the
Magic Spell of the Yoga bed thatmany seem to be under. In fact I hate the Yoga bed!
If you only ever sleep on your back, and I mean only sleep on your back, then maybe this is an ok option. But If you are a side sleeper or sleep on your tummy, you’ll find that from the knee down there is no contact with the bed until your toes touch, simply because they arch downward. Its way too firm/ stiff, and not like a traditional mattress. When resting on your belly or side, the foam does something strange where the hip and thigh sink into the bed but the knee cap and shin, which are lighter in body mass, are forced in an upward straining position. It’s actually painful. , as it puts stress on the knee cap. To alleviate the pressure I now put a pillow beneath my shin to keep it properly aligned.
Marpec, if you’re reading, this is a serious flaw that needs to be reviewed. It is potentially causing stress injuries.
I’ve also had pain in my shoulders ever since I’ve started sleeping on the Yoga bed. The shoulders aren’t able to sink into the bed either. A bed should have proper support no matter how one sleeps.
Another thing with this mattress ( this may be true for all foam mattresses - I don’t know) the firmness changes with the temperature and humidity.

I honestly hate this bed! Kept hoping that with time it would soften up, but by the time we decided to return it, it was too late. It’s been 9 months, and I can honestly say I wish I did not make this purchase.
PS. The pillows are not just uncomfortable and stiff, you’ll wake up with a stiff neck! My daughter and husband also not a fan of the Yogabed or pillows.
A lot of reviews in which people seem to enchanted are early on into the purchase. I wonder over time if their reviews will be as glowing.

I LOVE my Marpac Yogabed! It's the comfiest mattress ever, and I love that it comes in such a convenient box. The best part is the machine-washable cover. Makes it so much easier to maintain a clean, allergy-free sleeping space. Can't rave about it enough!
