Don’t waste your money. If you have no claims then this may be the company for you.
For me, one claim and they cannot even provide a company that is willing to show up when I’m available. Working on this for two weeks and they say they only have one service company in my area (the city of San Antonio,TX). I paid extra for pool coverage- waste.
A bit of bad luck, I have two cook tops, one gas and one electric, they said they will only service one so I need to pick which one they will fix.
They were able to find a company to change my locks so I guess that is worth one star.
Very disappointing purchase.

"I submitted a claim for my refrigerator…"
I submitted a claim for my refrigerator which was not cooling. Paid the $125 service fee and noticed they contracted proper appliance. To avoid problems I always look at companies reviews and noticed proper appliance had terrible reviews. I contacted first American home warranty and requested a different company and immediately refused and said they couldn’t do it. About almost a month after my claim and 6 visits from proper appliance to my home my refrigerator was still not operational. Very bad communication from both proper appliance and first American home warranty. I was also paying for the premium coverage and did not feel I was treated fairly … even after I gave both companies 6 tries to fix my refrigerator. My food went bad and only offered a $75 voucher and help with my appliance and food waste. Never again will I do business with first American home warranty.

First American employees answer the phones promptly when I call. The situation is always taken seriously, a contractor contacted, a repair date set, and then First American texts me and gives me that information as well as the contractor's number.

They do not honor reimbursement payments. They also do not have timely communication. I only received a portion of my reimbursement agreement. They will also try to charge to have you cancel them. This company does not operate on good morals or honor.

This was to fix a problem that was not first am fault but their responsibility. And they took the responsibility. A company hired by them did not complete the job and I did not know this. Sometime later I realized it and they hired another company to complete the work Hindsight I think if First American had someone to check after a job to make sure it was done correctly would be a good idea. I am an older woman and I did not know what they were doing and my problem seemed fixed. It was just later the incompleteness showed up yet First American did take responsibility and had the fix completed. I have been pleased with this company
