Go with a different company. Bench makes it easy to start but just know you'll pay for it on the backend. The first few months will be extremely simple with no issues until it's time to file your taxes and they finish your books a month late. Then stop replying to you when you need mistakes fixed afterwards. It's not worth it. Their native system won't allow you to export once it's time to leave. That day will come so do yourself a favor. Put in extra time to find someone better because the bar is extremely low at Bench. Pay extra money to get someone a bit more expensive. It'll be for peace of mind. I wouldn't wish the kind of stress I've experienced working with Bench for my worst enemy. They take your money but no one cares to fulfill on their promises. You get what you pay for so it's completely my fault for using them in the first place. I just hope I can save future business owners from doing the same thing

Working with Bench and Emily has been a truly wonderful experience. Using the website is super easy and efficient. I would highly recommend Bench to any small business owner for their bookkeeping/accounting needs. I've been with the company for about 8 years now and it has been great working with them every step of the way.

Great working with the bookkeepers on an individual basis. The challenge for me is bookkeepers get changed frequently and this can be frustrating getting to know a new bookkeeper all the time.

"They are ill equipped but will continue to debit your account"

They've continued to delay completing my business taxes (for my very small, very straight forward business) though they continue to debit their fee from my account each month. Every time I've reached out for a status update, they take days to reply and say they need additional information from me to complete the taxes, though I've given them EVERY document needed and I remind them of that. I'm about to engage an attorney.

High pressure spam sales company. I never signed up for them; they said they bought my email address from someone. They won't stop texting and emailing me.

Anyone this clueless and hard-up for sign ups can stay far far far away from my accounting.

I recently started using Bench for my small business's bookkeeping needs about 2 years ago, and I couldn't be more pleased with the service they provide. From the outset, their platform was user-friendly and intuitive, making the transition from Quickbooks seamless and stress-free.

"Probably the worst experience I have…"

Probably the worst experience I have ever had in 20 years of business. Do not waste your time and money as this is not a good service. I was skeptical of the reviews and gave it a shot. They still haven’t given me my end of the year financials from 2023 and we are in June 2024! Again, this service is a joke and it’s the worst possible experience you will have.

I've been using Bench.co for years now. At first, they were great. As time went on, the bookkeepers got worse and worse. Now there is an AI program that asks you a ton of questions on categorizing the transactions (this used to be the bookkeepers job). This is more time consuming than keeping my books in excel. Not to mention it took 6 months to get my 2023 books done.

"Terrible service do not recommend "

I have been trying to get Bench accounts to complete my 2023 taxes with no luck. My tax representative usually doesn’t answer and when she answers it’s often that she is mistaken me for someone else and sends me wrong info. I have been asking for my books now for weeks with no progress. I don’t know what else to do as I have reached out over and over with no luck. No use paying a monthly service for this as they do not do basic things like filing your taxes and have no overview and tons of mistakes. My trust in the service is gonna and I feel my taxes will have tons of mistakes if they complete my papers (if they ever will)

"Complete failure and no follow through"

Signed up in early feb and didn't get a meeting with a tax adviser until April 10th. Was underwhelmed with the competence of the tax adviser and requested the customer success team. Got endless run arounds and found a bunch of lies they told me when I signed up about the nature of the service. Repeatedly told them to pull up the transcript of my sales call, never did it. Asked for a refund in April, and have been calling every day and being told that someone would get back to me. Finally posted on Linked in, Instagram, and Facebook. Only a reply on Linked in with no traction. Finally they got back to me and I need to make an account with some 3rd party payment processor and sight a confidentiality agreement and waiver before they will issue a refund. What a abhorrent way to run a business.
