"First order, review of rescue me box"

This was my first order from Strings n Things, I have followed them on Facebook for a while and always think their plants look lovely. I ordered a rescue me box, I wasn't expecting much so I was very surprised when it arrived, 24 hour shipping was on time! Very well packaged and everything kept damp with moss, I expected to have to do alot of rescuing but the plants were in very good condition! My only request would be for the plants to be labelled, I knew what a few of them are but there's a mystery cutting im not to sure what it is - im excited for it to grow to try and identify! Overall a very good purchase and I will be placing orders in the future!

Bought 4 things in total from strings n things on separate occasions.

1st was my variegated monstera £70
Only 1 leaf .. the leaf came snapped.
I managed to keep it alive for 2month with a very great deal of effort on my behalf, supporting the leaf, changing the water more often, trying different propagation methods, heat mats, ventilation and humidifiers, checking for rot etc. it was doomed before I started.

2nd was a alocasia silver dragon.
This came with two tiny leaves as if it had just sprouted. Also wilted after trying numerous things.

3rd was an order of a philodendron pink princess (£20) and philodendron white princess ‘rooted’ cutting (£25)
Pink princess was a small plant with 3 leaves and a new one sprouting. It arrived with one of the leaves fully snapped off and one snapped in half. This is still alive for now but I essentially got a 1 leaf cutting.

The white princess is what I am most dissatisfied with! I bought as a rooted cutting. The roots were well established (so I thought) I potted it in perlite mix and lone behold it started turning brown. I’ve since taken it from the mix and put it into water to help the roots, trimming the roots and checking for any rot (which there was no sign of) it looked like a healthy plant with a lot of healthy roots! It continued to die off.

So out of the 4 I’m left with a 1 leaf cutting and over £100 down!

I’ve never had any problems with buying fully established plants or cuttings from anywhere other than here! I keep over 100 indoor plants so it’s not anything I am doing. I would strongly recommend you avoid.
