I have just come back from Crete where l rented a car from Royalrentals at Chania airport. The service was excellent, fast, friendly and easy, we were in and out of the office within minutes and on our way. Same on the return of the car. Would always use this company in future. The gentleman who dealt with us was friendly, polite and thorough.

arnaque au pare brise. On RECEPTIONNE LA VOITURE DE NUIT à 22h30 donc impossible de voir non pas 1 mais 2 petits impact que l'on découvre le Lendemain Matin. Au retour on nous prélève 500 €. quelle est la probabilité d'avoir 2 impacts en 24 heures dans une période ou l'on croise peu de monde en crète = ZERO

"Good service but scrapyard quality cars"
Firstly I would like to state that this company has excellent staff that are friendly.
However the main issue is, the company has stated in previous reviews that I would receive a car 99% of times that's within 2 years old and if I do get one that's within 5 years old it would be well maintained.
Unfortunately I received a piece of junk of a nissa micra, this model was manufactured in 2010-2016 so at a minimum this car is 7 years old and i have been lied to.
My first car I received was an early model close to 2010, engine was loud and weak plus the aircon was not working.
Thanks fully the helpful staff arranged a replacement vehicle for me after having to drive 30km to pick it up. The new vehicle was the same exact series of Nissan micra maybe 3 years newer. But still the vehicle was clearly 10 years old around.
I would give this company a 1 star review after being lied to, received a faulty dirty car. What saves it from being 1 star is the friendliness of the staff. Please scrap the 2 micra's, they arnt roadworthy.

DO NOT rent a car from this company absolute scammers. Wont provide a proper quote or give us paperwork to claim for so called damage we supposidly done to the ramshack of a vehicle. That vehicle has now cost me approx £1150. Even after multiple e mails and phone calls the female at Heraklion airport told me to do what I want as the wont be giving us any paperwork. Total scam!!!

I had an accident in my rental car (my fault), The way these guys looked after me was brilliant. They arrived on the scene quickly, ensured I was calm and supported, quickly arranging a replacement. I can't thank them enough. This is my first time driving abroad and on the other side of the road. What matters when you hire a car abroad is how you are treated when things don't go to plan and in this instance i can't fault them! As a side note - if you get insurance with your rental - opt for the additional extras as the basic CDW will only cover damage and not towing etc. which can be expnsive!

"AWFUL SERVICE"
AWFUL SERVICE. Definitely scammed us, as they charged 700 euros for a scratch on the bumper, that we tried to protest, and then were uncooperative when trying to get additional information to submit the charges to our insurance. Avoid this place completely.

"Unprofessional"
Upon arrival I already felt uncomfortable. Long wait just to collect the car. We were then presented with an old car with unreal mileage on the clock. Damage and dents to almost every single panel of the car. Quality and age of the cars are disgraceful. My advice would be to record EVERY SINGLE VISIBLE AREA of the car. Yes, get on your knees and record UNDER the car, under both bumpers and side skirts as this is how they will try to get you. Record every single panel slowly so that you have evidence for your own protection.

"Avoid like the plague"
Royal at Heraklion Airport. Avoid. Have had to wait quite a while to post a review as have had issues with Royal.
They charged me for damage to a bumper (old git on a moped did it!). 260 euros for damage and an admin fee. Bit miffed but couldn't really complain.
I claimed on my excess cover insurance; they would not pay out without a written invoice from Royal. I e-mailed them 3 times requesting one. The agent, Discover Cars, e-mailed them at least twice. No reply to any of them. Were very quick to tell me they prided themselves on customer service when I picked up the car.
Fortunately, my insurance paid out after I sent them proof of payment for the damage and the e-mails to Royal from myself and Discover Cars.
Fully intend going back to Crete but will most definitely NOT use Royal.
Wonder if I'd get a reply if I asked them if the damage has been repaired, along with the other damage to the car?????

Geven aan dat de onderkant van de auto beschadigd is willen! Laten je extra lang tot je bijna je vliegtuig mist en alsnog gaat betalen terwijl je verzekerd bent!
