This company also sells fishing equipment and supplies.
I placed an order for goods and the next day received a telephone call to say one of the items was out of stock.
I asked for a refund to my card as this is one of the options I was given. So far so good.
I have never received this refund. I waited for a week or so and then telephoned the company, leaving a message. I have found the number given just rings and rings so I had no other option.
I then emailed the company using there own enquiry form (twice now) and nothing happens, no reply at all.
The amount of money involved is just over £11.00. It is not huge, but it is a lot to me.
They have been told this in my messages.
I would avoid this company, they do not seem to care to much once they have had your money.

"Lamentable customer service!"
My mother took her strimmer in for repair during the summer when we needed it most. They kept it for nearly a month without telling us what the problem was so I called into the shop one day. I was told that the person who does the repair was on holiday so it would be ready the following Monday or Tuesday. I gave them the benefit of the doubt but there was still no call 1.5 weeks later, so I phoned for an update. This time I was told I'd have to wait ANOTHER MONTH for a part, making a total of over 2 months, again when we needed the strimmer most.
I couldn't afford to wait that long so, in frustration, I went to pick up the strimmer to make alternative arrangements. I was then told that I would have to pay £51.30 for investigative work (!!!) before I could take the strimmer away. I tried to remonstrate with the manager concerned but he told me it wasn't their fault because of supply problems and I had to pay. (I asked who I could write to with a complaint but was told it was the manager I'd just spoken to, which would have been useless.)
I got the strimmer sorted and it turned out the part Browns said was delayed wasn't actually needed in the first place. The investigative work couldn't have been more than pulling the starter cord a couple of times!
What they should have done was warned my mum PRIOR to repair that it was going to take a while and called their customer BEFORE we had to chase it up. Also, if the main repair technician is on holiday they need to get someone else trained to cover him.
Lastly, they should have offered us the option to take the strimmer back free of charge and we would have kept using Browns. Now, we will never use the shop again because of their terrible customer service.

"Stihl Petrol Leaf Blower"
I purchased a Stihl Petrol Blower brand new from George Browns in August 2022 for £325 to help clear the leaves in my garden and only ever used the ready mixed fuel also purchased from George Browns. Earlier this month the leaf blower stopped working and would not start so I took it back to George Browns. They have just confirmed they want to charge me £204 to repair it as they say the carburetor is blocked and it is not under warranty even though it is only a year old and it must have been blocked by me. This is totally unacceptable as I have kept the leaf blower in the garage when not using it and used the recommended fuel supplied by George Browns.

I purchased a chipper shredder online and it arrived disassembled. This isn’t made clear on the website. I had to get a local dealer to fit it together and transport a very heavy, cumbersome object in my saloon car. When I finally began to use it, the Stihl chipper shredder didn’t work properly. Browns want me to return the chipper shredder, disassembled in the original box. It’s difficult to get hold of people as they are out of the office. I have one contact now, but the whole business has turned into a nightmare.
