As Buyer, Entered into a Contract with the Seller who listed the property with Home Bay, Contract was subject to a Mortgage, sent Earnest money to Home Bay's Escrow Agent, Lend Mark in Utah, Bank never approved my Mortgage, Appraisal rejected, Its been THREE Months now and Home Bay has failed to refund me my Earnest money....at this point, i'll have to sue Home Bay...these are BAD people...Scammers

"Home Bay is a not-quite-ready for prime time"
Home Bay is a not-quite-ready for prime time service to sell a house. The agent was never available. The buyer's agent was often left in the dark. An appointment was not relayed to the seller, so it caused an expense on the buyer that could have been avoided. No advice or resources from Home Bay on repair requests. Just a lot of frustrations that a real agent could have handled. Did I save $5,000? Yep! ...but wouldn't do it over again.

It was a stress free experience. I was able to contact my agent almost immediately. The online follow up was flawless along with the DocuSign feature.
I saved around 1.7% of the sell price. It would have been more if I would have gotten a buyer without a real state agent whom I paid 2.5%. So in total I paid around 3.3% on real state fees.
Overall it was a positive experience.

Bottom line- we had 2 offers in 5 days which means the HomeBay photos and online ads were professional and attracted buyers. The process was easy and convenient and 100% digital/remote/mobile — the way we work today. Our agent (Bobbie) was awesome- competent, fun to work with, tolerant and patient with us, supportive, responsive, and professional. The results: We closed yesterday at 99.2% of asking price, gave $245 in “repairs”, and saved over $5,000 in Listing Agent fees with no loss of effectiveness and a great outcome. We have 2 more properties to sell. We’ll be using HomeBay for both of them. Realtor industry better wake up. Agents who bring buyers will continue to do well. Listing agents are being disintermediated by virtual, digital, internet based real estate “partners” like HomeBay.
