"Thank you so much for your wonderful help!"
Thank you so much for your wonderful help to rescue a kangaroo 🦘 that had lost his way and found himself stranded in a tight spot in our backyard! We are very grateful for your help to rescue him and return him to his home in the bush. Thank you 🙏

"Helpful and Compassionate"
Found a small noisy minor chick on the road. Called late a Friday night and had a very helpful lady assist. Advised to relocate the chick to higher up position (the parents were flying around).

"This is an organization that genuinely cares about native wildlife and its volunteers are knowledgeable and dedicated."
Today, I found a baby possum hiding in the tyre of our sedan.
I was very worried that it may be injured after observing its behaviour over several hours and unfortunately my arms were too short to reach its spot under our car to help him.
So I called Save Our Wildlife Foundation and I spoke to Deborah who was friendly and very helpful.
She promptly arranged a rescue request and she was happy to provide extra information and updates.
The Animal Ambulance arrived and the volunteer was knowledgeable and courteous.

"I was so relieved to finally find a…"
I was so relieved to finally find a friendly, supportive helpful volunteer on a Saturday evening answering calls! I’d tried several rescue centres without success.
I had found a badly injured young duck on a riverbank, and hoped a rescue centre would be able to give me help by collecting the poor thing.
Someone was finally found that could help, but after further discussion with the volunteer, I found I lived very close to the nearest vet hospital, which was open at weekends!
I managed to commandeer a large paper grocery bag from nearby picnickers and walked back to deliver the duck to the caring experts at the vet’s.
Unfortunately, the little fellow was unable to be rehabilitated, so was put out of his misery quickly and humanely.
I’m so grateful to have been able to speak to someone who was so helpful and genuinely caring, also following up on what the outcome had been.

"Baby possum"
We found a baby possum hiding behind our water tank that was too small to fend for itself and didn’t seem to have the energy to move. After attempting to call multiple rescue foundations, I finally got onto someone at SOWFI and they answered the call straight away. After hoping the possum may have moved itself once nighttime came but didn’t, a volunteer came out at 8pm and successfully retrieved the possum. They decided to take it to a vet to be checked over and said they would let me know the outcome. Thank you to all the volunteers for the amazing work you do.

"The little duckling"
We had a ducks nest on top of our watertank that had geraniums grown up and over. On Saturday (30th Sept) my neighbour came knocking saying this little one belongs to you. It was a baby duckling. I put her back in the nest and she immediately climbed out. As she would not survive out on her own I phoned Save our wildlife and they found a home for her which was not to far from me. We took her to her new home. I appreciate the work the foundation does which is so incredible. Thank you so much for doing what you do. 💓

"We had a male kangaroo hopping through…"
We had a male kangaroo hopping through our suburban street this week. Never before has this occurred and there are no kangaroos living nearby.
The kangaroo was scared and disturbed that it ended up in a 25 inch ditch in someone’s back yard. Once I made the call the rescue happened within 90 minutes. It was a great effort. Thank you so much!

"Fantastic"
Fantastic, helpful advice given to me. I took a poor magpie that cheeped at me for help as I walked by to the vet, after finding out that vets will see native animals free of charge. This is so good to know and will mean that I will know what to do next time! Poor Magpie was too unwell but at least we tried and he/she got a humane end of life.
