"Joyful mayhem at Haathi Mahal..."

We were 21 members from a family and we had planned this monsoon holiday at Karma Haathi Mahal, Cavelossim. Family members trickled in one by one or family by family and we were welcomed warmly, a glass of water melon juice and a pretty smooth check in. 7 days of activity, great local Goan food (outside) and a fishing expedition, a first for most of us. The resort was brilliant, almost well maintained and very helpful staff. I've been a member for well over 12 years and I've faced challenges but I've seen progress and improvement. Well done team Haathi Mahal. Look forward to our next holiday.
A suggestion. Consider a free breakfast offer for 'loyal members' of 10 years and over. Also introduce more economical pricing at your restaurant

"We enjoyed the stay in Karma Chakra…"

We enjoyed the stay in Karma Chakra from 9 to 12 July and relaxed. We had set up a bride and groom meeting there for our daughter. We received all support from the resort for that occasion.
For the first time, we played the Soccer table till all of us fully exhausted. It was a Wonderful experience!
There is a little more gap at some places on the walking bridges that not only children but grown ups also slip at times. Have to take care to check the uneven gaps.
During one of our breakfast (10th I think) at the restaurant we found a piece of bread (2nd piece) with fungus and we reported it then and there. They have just replaced it with another piece without telling anything; but we had already eaten the first piece from the set. We were afraid of a probable food poison. Next day we avoided the breakfast. Have to take great care on food.
Otherwise it was a nice stay.
Regards

"Upgrade the resort "

We recently stayed at Sunshine resort, Bengaluru. The location is ethereal. But the resort is small. Food can be better. Overall revamp of accommodation will be good. Hospitality is unmatched.

"We had the most relaxing week at Karma…"

We had the most relaxing week at Karma Royal Candiasa. While it is not a gold star resort it was authentic with real people who showed a genuine interest in our needs as Aussie tourists. It was well run by lovely people who identified with us knowing which room we had, our food and drinks likes and very keen to make sure we had an enjoyable stay. It was close to the beach and had lovely local businesses at our doorstep and no hassling hawkers as you stepped out onto the street.

"WE CAN CONFIRM YOUR BOOKING SINCE YOU HAVE VALID POINTS AND PROVIDE THE VOUCHERS BUT YOU CANNOT REDEEM THEM SINCE YOUR ACCOUNT IS INACTIVE"

If you really want to be part of a multi- million dollar scam, you need to become a member of Karma Group....

I have been part of this group for years now and have been listening to their SALES team lying day in and out to get me to upgrade the package, change the time-share to ownership and lately become an investor itself... Finally after my contract finally ended but having valid points to be utilized till the end of the year, they have cancelled my account, limited access to the portal and the Customer Service informed me the following.... Get ready to hear the best line in the history of Customer Service:

WE CAN CONFIRM YOUR BOOKING SINCE YOU HAVE VALID POINTS AND PROVIDE THE VOUCHERS BUT YOU CANNOT REDEEM THEM SINCE YOUR ACCOUNT IS INACTIVE....

There is no direct number to reach them and each time you set up a call back, you are in touch with a new advisor who doesn't have a clue what's happening and you have to go down the rabbit hole again and then not receive any callbacks from that person and the cycle continues....

"You must avoid this company at all costs"

I thought 1980’s style, unethical “double glazing” type sales was dead (and so it should be) but, alas, it is alive and well in the Karma group.

It seems I’m not alone in what I write below. What you read in my review, you will read many times from other reviewers.

Today we were accosted as we walked the streets of Hoi An by a Finnish lady (shame on you if you are reading this) . We were given scratch cards. We all won a baseball cap and my wife a prize of an iPhone, 6,000,000 VND or a free 7 night Karma Holiday (I’ll let you guess which of the prizes we actually won!)

The catch - we had to go to an office for (and I quote) ”just 60 minutes” (I should have gone with my initial gut feel of “run - this is a time share type scam”

Well, the 60 minutes turned into almost 3 hours. Our salesman said “they should not have said 60 mins - no way does this take 60 mins” - funny how many similar reviews also state a 60 minute meeting is what was offered to be duped into 2 and 3 hours.

Our double glazing sales man, Chris - sold at us for at least 2 hours. Asking us the same questions over and over again. He was joined on several occasions by his passive aggressive boss, Jason.

They were selling us a lifestyle of glamorous holiday locations for an upfront membership fee and then only circa $400 per week for each subsequent holiday. The problem is that they were far from upfront on the price of the membership fee, despite me asking at least a dozen times.

As an aside, The location they took us to, to show off what they were selling was far from glamorous - 3 star at best.

As stated above, I asked repeatedly what the “membership fee” was. My question was repeatedly ignored….for almost 3 hours. I was getting increasingly frustrated but Chris just ploughed on seemingly not caring that he was interrupting my family vacation. I regret not just walking out.

After 3 hours of very amateur and obvious poor sales technique (I’ve worked in sales myself for many years so can spot a crap and obvious hard sell when I see one), passive aggressive Jason came to tell us the membership fee.

Essentially the fee was discounted to an upfront £26k. At that point I was very clear “no way will I part with £26k until I’ve done some serious due diligence on a company I’ve never heard of”. It was at this point that Mr Passive Aggressive become more overtly aggressive. Basically I needed to take the deal right now (or part with at least a £2k deposit) or loose it. Who, in their right mind parts with £26k on a whim without having time to consider - hence my assertion that this is akin to the worst double glazing sales.

I’m disgusted that this type of underhand activity still takes place. Seriously, who falls for this? 85,000 members apparently??

Thanks Jason, my eldest daughter left in tears, so much did you impact her trust of human nature. You also took away 3 hours of our precious family holiday.
