I knew I had my yearly sinus infection and also knew it didn’t warrant a two day delay in getting in to my main dr. Plus I felt so lousy it was nice to just stay home.

I was helped very promptly and effectively. The questions I was asked were to the point and thorough. The medication they prescribed helped me within hours and I was able to continue on like normal. I am very grateful for this service since I was on vacation out of state when I used this service.

UPDATE: I did reach out to MDlive first via email, but was then instructed to call. I basically wanted either a refund for my first visit as that was a waste of time and money, or to only be charged a follow up with a new provider. ultimately, I wished to continue services with MDlive but with a different provider and did not feel I should be penalized for HER failure to properly treat a patient.

The teller I spoke with agreed with me but wasn't the type of decision she could make and escalated to a supervisor who initially said the fee would be the 284. I disagreed with that and she agreed to charge me only the follow up fee, she scheduled a new appointment for me for the following week, and got me with a general provider for a refill that day. Unfortunate that I was already out of medication for two weeks by that time.

I met with provider Sukhpreit Sohi who asked a lot more questions and I felt had a better experience. At the end of our appointment she scheduled a follow up in three months (the prior psychiatrist I had seen did not offer to schedule just told me to try the meds for a month and then follow up) so I do feel more confident with her level of care.

I am keeping my original review down below, because that sort of care is totally and completely unacceptable and perhaps readers will see that provider as an option for them and know better than put themselves through that...but I am changing my original review from 1 star to 4, because the platform did resolve the issue and does not deserve to take the fall for the failure of one person.

Original review:

Very bad experience with Psychiatris Sadaf Ijaz. I scheduled with her because she was one of few who had appointments available after 5pm which fit my schedule best due to work.

I had an initial appointment which I felt was very rushed. She did not ask me for my family history or any thing like that. She asked why I was there and I said I had been having a hard time and she was pretty much like okay I'll give you an antidepressant and I was like waittttt, there's more, I'm pretty sure I'm bipolar and she again was pretty much like okay here's your mood stabilizer.

The initial appointment did not take 20 minutes. I felt this was not nearly enough time, but I didn't really care because I do know I am bipolar. In my case, I have a family history, and have been working with a therapist for a few months, ALL psychiatrists in my area are so far out I couldn't even get wait listed. So I was relieved because I know I have long ago reached a point where I NEEDED medication.

That said, the swiftness, and impersonal visit could definitely be harmful! There is a reason initial evaluations usually take an hour or more...

But whatever, I got what I ultimately needed. So I scheduled my follow up, I am changing jobs and with that will come a lapse of insurance. Not their fault, but I had accounted for this in scheduling before my last day of wok. I was scheduled for 6/22/21 at 7:15. I logged on at 7:10. And waited FOR OVER AN HOUR before my appointment was just cancelled.

No message, no nothing. Just cancelled. After sitting in front of the screen. For over an hour. I had my little emotional break down, because this meant my next appointment would be during my lapse of insurance, but I bit the bullet and scheduled anyway. Because I need these medications. The new appointment would mean I'd be out of medication the day before the appointment. Not ideal but you grin and bear.

Guess who sat AGAIN for over an hour? My appointment was today 6/29/21 at 8:30 and was cancelled at 9:46. OVER AN HOUR LATER. I left it up on my phone the whole time because if she showed up to the appointment, even an hour late, I knew I'M the one who would have been charged a no show fee even though I was not only on time but early.

So now I am out of psych meds. Something TOTALLY healthy to go off and on of. Coming off of meds can cause manic episodes. Manic episodes can not only cause damage to your life and the people around you, but literal brain damage.

Seeking help is HARD. Being abandoned by a mental healthcare professional is dangerous! She CLEARLY does not care about her patients, as shown by our 20 minute eval and multiple no show appointments. I will probably try to see if I can see another provider but I'm unsure if I will have to pay the $300 initial evaluation fee if I do so.

The experience has been extremely stressful to someone who is already having a really hard time and I am just astounded at the absolute disregard given to people's literal health.
