"Art Deco Ebony Knobs"
I replaced the plastic volume and tone knobs on my Premier SS with the ebony knobs available on the D'Angelico website, and used on Excel and Deluxe versions. There was nothing wrong with the original knobs, I just wanted the more Art Deco vibe of those classic ebony knobs. And I notice the new Premieres now include the ebony knobs as standard. Nice upgrade!

"Once it's out the door you're nothing to D'Angelico"
I purchased a D'Angelico guitar via Guitar Center (GC) and was so excited to finally have a semi-hollow body and to own such a beautiful guitar like the Premier Bedford SH from D'Angelico.
I immediately noticed a couple of issues with the guitar (tinging and fuzzy-sounding notes, difficulty staying in tune) but I didn't think much of it.
I went to a local shop to figure out what was going on and they informed me that the truss rod was never set up and the guitar neck was now completely warped.
Fast forward a bit, after trying to work with the insurance company and GC with little to no help... 1) Insurance won't refund the full value of the guitar because it was on sale (Christmas Sale %50 off) at the time of purchase. 2) GC informed me that GC isn't responsible for setting up the guitars they receive. They get items in and put them on the floor, that's it.
I reached out to D'Angelico explaining the situation I'm in and given their manufacturer warranty (still within 1 year of purchase) I thought they'd be able to assist in the process. At the end of the day, they shipped a guitar that shouldn't have been sold/wasn't ready to be sold and I, a consumer purchasing from two well-established and reputable companies, was none the wiser.
D'Angelico has now informed me that because my guitar is discontinued, there are no options for them to honor their warranty and that the best option (in their opinion) is to take the 50% reimbursement and deal with it.
Had I known this would be the process for dealing with a faulty product, I wouldn't have purchased any item from a company that masquerades itself as a home grown mom & pop shop when seemingly they're more focused on money than making sure their customers are actually happy and taken care of.
