"Just finished a webinar"

Just finished a webinar. I purchased this crap in the early morning hours. Paid 27.00 dollars to get an intro to what he's selling and spent 4 hours and then shot a link to get a coaching call. Advertised as a course in digital real estate. Nothing but just the gimmicks of what can happen and no clarification. I can't believe I paid to watch another sales pitch. And feel awful that others paid 25,000 for this type of crap. He is a high-ticket seller even if he doesn't hold up to it. Thank you to everyone who left a review. It lets me know, and I refuse to pay more when that initial webinar was subpar.

"Don’t trust these people! "

Scam! Don’t spend your hard earned money on these crooks. They stole $500 from me and lied about there program. There are much better programs out there that are legit!

"I am currently enrolled in this course"

Previously, I wrote a highly critical review of this company. I am still enrolled in class. I admit, it is a lot to learn in a brief period, but I can honestly say that everything had been done to resolve this situation. There error my mine. The mistake was allowing my attitude to interfere with my ability to learn new skills.

"The course equipped me with everything…"

The course equipped me with everything I needed to be confident in moving forward with me own marketing firm. I pushed it off because I didn’t want to waste time and money doing the wrong thing. It was helpful to get guidance for my particular lifestyle, which has made me all the more prepared to be successful.

"The instructor was Awesome!"

The instructor was very experienced, and explained very well, he also answered any and all questions during each session. He was passionate about what he was doing. He seemed to be in a happy place when he was teaching. Evan had an easy way about him. He was, honest, down to earth, likable and trusting. I learned a lot, maybe not as fast as some of the other students, but I am grateful for the recordings as I rely very heavily on them. The experience has been positive thus far, and they have been quick to respond to any questions or help that I've needed, which again I am grateful for. I look forward to their continued support.

"Evan is an excellent coach!!"

Evan is an excellent coach!!! Knows this business model inside and out, and is able to deliver the information in a way that is both kind and understanding, while still being serious and deliberate. Extremely grateful to have been able to share time with him! He's a good egg, and definitely a keeper! 6 stars!

"Review time"

First off, is Douglas James a scam? No, he's legit.

Would I use him again? No.

Why 4 stars? He got me started.

I just wish I didn't get into his program. I really liked some of the coaches and coaching. There is value there, probably a lot more than I realize.

Anyways. Why would I not use it? I did his $25k done for you services. My very first call with their sales rep and I asked, ok what is this. He told me it's digital marketing and all the opportunities and stuff. My first gut response was, I'm no salesman and I'm not into cold calling people. I was told, "Tim it's not like that, if you do the Done For You option, then no you don't do cold calls, we give you a script and you give us available hours and we send you the clients in a niche you choose, if you're not closing we have coaches that will be 1 on 1 with you and help you figure what's not working..." I was like, ok, I can do a script. I've done call centers. I have 3 days off a week where I can take calls a good portion of the day, ok, I can do this.

What did I get? Not much more than a template webpage, a demo deck that could be done in Canva with some good prompts, and an e-mail list that can easily be purchased. The 1 on 1 coaching was group coaching. It is a very rushed process. Very difficult to manage while holding a job. Coaching calls are in the middle of the day and the program moves swiftly.
Juggling work, kids and whatnot then get into this and try to do the homework on their schedule was difficult.
It really sounded like you pick a suggested niche, which I did, and then being done for you I figured there'd be materials to learn and go. It's not like that. First week I was to go out and do 20 cold calls - I knew nothing. It was to learn about the niche and make contacts. I chose a dental niche. Not too many offices were very receptive to me calling and asking to speak to the dentist or office manager and have little to nothing to say but ask questions about their business. Saying I was a digital marketing student, I'd like to learn and understand your pain points essentially. It just became a huge turn off.

So I called them out on this in a coaching call saying, this isn't really what I signed up for, there was an obvious annoyance (I think they got that a lot), told me I have to do these assignments, figure out an offer, develop a script, refine a demo deck, refine my website, install triggers, etc Now every person is different so stuff needs to be modified. I'd send in an assignment and say how's this? Usually it was never looked at, sometimes there was advice, but never that reassurance like, yeah this is good or will work.

That being said and understanding digital marketing better now, sure I get why these were the answers and the program. HOWEVER, it wasn't the pitch. Nothing in the Done for you sales call was said I'd need to spend more money to start having people come to me. During the courses the coaching was brushed off at first, and then eventually became very clear that more money was needed to be spent to obtain that. So "Done for you?" if you upgrade from $6,000 to $25,000? Nothing is done for you. You get templates, coaching, and need to fork out money to hire another company to bring you leads.

After I really complained the next Wednesday Douglas James did his weekly call and the first 15 minutes I felt like he was responding to my complaint. Said nothing is ever easy or given, you have to put in the work and time to make it happen, it took me 6 months of hard work to get going, yada yada. I was fuming after that call. I did about 2 years of work to save $25,000 to give to you Douglas who says it's a done for you system, help me avoid 6 months of what you went through.

All that was given in the program could so easily be done just watching you tube videos, heck even in the coaching, you get stuck, google it and research it. So why the helk did I pay Douglas James $25,000? You get 90 days and then out you go, you still get the resources. $25,000 could have bought A LOT of leads.

Had they been straight with me on the first 2 calls, who knows. "Tim, Douglas James is a coaching business, there's going to be hard lessons, but we'll give you templates and a coach to help you. You'll have to learn to cold call, you'll be putting together your own SOP's, demo decks, learning to build and operate some software. In the end you'll be ready to take on leads. This will be your responsibility to get these leads. We provide an agency who you can pay to bring them to you, and if things aren't working, our coaching will help you get better." That is the appropriate sales pitch.

I don't care what they say. It's not easy in the beginning. With time it's easier when you know the product well and have confidence. It takes time to get there. I'm getting there finally. You just got to persevere. I say pull the trigger if you're ok with the last pitch. There are some world class coaches in his program.
