"Very accommodating host"

Very accommodating host, beautiful setting - so peaceful. Fabulous communal areas - with loads of space for our group.

The house was ideal for our group of ladies celebrating a big birthday. Great kitchen for prepping food together and the sitting round the table enjoying ourselves. Fabulous hot tub for us all to enjoy and near enough to get into Bath. Thanks so much and glad we finally managed to get there!

Home was fine but we didn't realize we needed a car. We thought we could literally go hiking to small towns nearby but we were only close to two or three.
Beware there are practically nil cab services in the area and the few 3 suggested do not provide the best service. We reserved our way back to train station 48 hs prior and the night before he said he couldn't make it at the agreed time.

"Said the cottage was wheelchair…"

Said the cottage was wheelchair accessible so therefore assuming that would be ok with mobility issues. Unfortunately the bed was very high and very difficult 😞 to get into. The mirror in the bathroom was suitable for a 6ft man standing. 🧍‍♂️. The taps were mixers and the hot water was scalding. The rotations were not obvious so it was difficult to control the temperature of the water especially for a person with limited mobility. There was nowhere to place a soap dispenser so it could be reached when in the bath, difficult for anyone with disability.

"Great holiday home"

A great place to stay when visiting Cumbria with easy access to a lot of attractions. A large spacious house, well fitted out with a touch of luxury and great little pub across the road.

Had a lovely stay at Mirefoot cottages. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Facilities are excellent.

"The Lodge certainly needs some TLC but…"

The Lodge certainly needs some TLC but that doesn’t mean that cleanliness should be compromised. Bearing in mind this is meant to be luxury accommodation and isn’t cheap I would expect better. The windows in all cases were filthy, there was limescale on most of the taps and if you’re going to have soap dishes then they should be cleaned before the new wrapped bar of soap is put in the dish or don’t have a soap dish at all. I think the cobwebs that were everywhere had been there for some time. There wasn’t a complete set of glasses, mugs or cups. Bin bags were not provided although there were other things there that we wouldn’t have expected. The dog poo bin hadn’t been emptied. The wall clock inside and outside weren’t working and the portable heating timer was flashing low battery and the rear cover missing exposing all the electronics. On a positive note the problem with the broadband we experienced was resolved as quickly as possible by a very helpful member of staff.
I wonder does anyone go and check these things. These are such small things that could be easily remedied. It could be a wonderful place and a shame that we were disappointed.

Beautiful cottage set in amazing landscaped grounds. The hosts were very welcoming, even providing a home made cake.

Dominey's Yard was all we hoped for, lovely area excellent condition and are hosts Adele and Nigel were excellent. We could not wish for better. The ONLy down side was the weather and obviously no one can help that

"A few pointers"

the cottage was very nice- just a couple of pointers - it was cold when we arrived and we were unable to get the heating to work - we called the numbers given and in fact they could operate the heating remotely - so then we were warm. There is no shaver/ electric toothbrush charging socket in either bathroom . We had to buy and adaptor to use charge our toothbrushes.
The instructions for the refuse/rubbish recycling collections are thoroughly confusing - a better description of the recycling buns under the sink would have been useful and the fact they 9 or rather their contents) have to be placed in 'bags' which have to then be put out for the collections team - fortunately we bumped into the refuse collections team and they explained.
