Wealthsimple has been a nightmare to work with. I have been trying to transfer a RRSP for 5.5 months and they refuse to email or phone call my bank to sort out why it is not being transferred. I email every week and every week they say "we are hoping this gets transferred soon" and then nothing happens despite it being almost half a year! I am even emailing with the manager, Simon, and he simply says they keep hoping the transfer will be completed one day like it's some mythical event that may take place. I regret ever moving my money over to them!

I didn't think it was possible for customer service to be worse than the CS at UberEats, but the customer service at Wealth Simple (a financial institution, mind you) is an abosolute JOKE. The majority of the reps they have staffed there are completely incompetent. It will take an agent almost 15mins to figure out how to fwd your call to the the next dept. Each time I called in, I was told one thing, only to learn that no action had ever followed through. The agents will often waste your time on the phone and assure you that they will take care of the issue and do xyz about it, only for you to get an email the next day informing you of the opposite (bc nothing was done). They often don't read the notes in full or communicate with each other clearly. When I called in today to follow up on the matter, I get a rude and unprofessional agent (NATE), who starts raising his voice and talking over me (aggressively), cuts me off when I'm speaking (repeatedly), and thinks its appropriate to give me attitude when he's the one sitting in a customer-facing role. The funny part is, after all his attitude it turns out he never executed what he claimed he would do bc I had to call back and get another agent who verified all sorts of issues that needed to be sorted from scratch.
@WealthSimple, you need to conduct an internal audit of the dummies you have in these roles bc several are incapable of doing their jobs competently and this is coming at the expense of customers' savings and accounts. It's frustrating and concerning

"Everything was fine until their system blocked me"
I was a happy wealthsimple customer for around 8 months when they emailed one day and said they suspected suspicious activity and locked the account for safety. then one minute later they sent an email to say they were not going to continue doing business with me and locked me out of my accounts permanently. i called to enquire what had happened and no one gave any explanation. They cited their user agreements which were lengthy and vague. I believe their AI system made a mistake and i've complained to the OBSI and hopefully will have a resolution soon. I have used other online institutions in the past with great results, but i dont think i'll be staying at wealthsimple even if this gets resolved.

for future years that with obvious exaggerations in it. If they can't be honest in an article like this how trustworthy can the be. I will avoid them now specifically because of this article

I had a very bad experience and they don't have good customer service. No calls, no communication, just spam emails. It was worse when I opened a LIRA account; Avi was not helpful at all, causing lots of headaches due to his lack of experience and customer service.

This is a scam investment. I got a radio silence from the account manager after I questioned how my account of over $100,000 was wiped out to zero balance; andrew parsons' securities pulled in and had all that was wiped out from my account, returned.
It is important to conduct proper due diligence before investing a substantial amount on any platform.

The worst institution I ever put my money in. I have a cash account there was a fraudulent transaction on my account they claim they doing a investigation after 90days I was told the money is lost and they can't do nothing about it.i ask for months to speak to a supervisor nobody call me. Government needs to investigate this company absolutely worst. You tell your customer after 90days your money is lost and case close
