"Excellent customer service"

We were due to do the Highlights of New Zealand and Australia tour. Flying out on April 25th.
We had continuous email contact from the company from the start of the Covid-19 crisis.
We were then contacted by telephone to ask us what we wanted to do? Refund or rebook, no mention of a voucher.
We chose the refund, our £2000 deposit was returned that day and the balance by the end of the week.
Absolutely can’t fault this company.
If we ever go on holiday again this will be the one we book with.
Very professional staff.

"GOOD VALUE TOUR LET DOWN WITH UNFAIR REFUND"

We booked a 29 day Australia tour as we had heard very good things about DIstant Journeys. The price seemed very good value compared to their competitors and things like breakfasts and some lunches were into the price unlike other companies. Unfortunately after 8 days there, the tour was cancelled due to government decisions. Distant journeys did well to get us home as there was a scramble to get the last few flights.
Back in the UK we were contacted by Distant Journeys and offered a refund and £500 voucher p/p off another future Australian holiday. Alas the refund was weighted greatly in their favour and did not reflect the true cost of the 8 days which we had. We infact were £2000 out of pocket and now have to pursue the difference through our insurance company. This has left a bad taste in the mouth after what was already a disappointing experience. Any fool could see politically what was going to happen and this tour should have been postponed. But no, they make you go or say you will lose all your money. I feel we've wasted a lot of money on expensive flights, the money which we wont get back .
Basically we the customer always lose out.
I'll think long and hard before paying out £16000 on a holiday next time to only get back £6300 when things go bad.

"Just to say thank you to all the staff…"

Just to say thank you to all the staff at Distant Journeys who organised our forthcoming holiday to Australia and then amidst the Covid19 unfortunately the trip was cancelled, but none the less the staff were professional, honest and truthful and gave us a full refund within weeks. This was a relief to us as some travel companies are only offering credit notes. Thank you once again and we shall be booking the same trip with you once it is safe to travel abroad.

Great organisation to go holiday with, brilliant journey to Australia, well organised all the way, a trip on The Ghan was my highlight (included) . A small firm with a well deserved reputation, highly recommended
