"Beyond expectations!"

Beyond expectations!! I have created my own comic book, and was very nervous for the results. They came out looking as professional as my favourite comics that are in store today. Amazing quality, before hand you can choose from many different options…can’t say enough about them! 10/10

"Straight forward instructions "

The clear instructions were so easy to follow step by step. Even when I spotted an error (on my part) it was so easy to “cut the page” amend the error and reinsert it in place. The choices in how you wished the book to look was also pretty good. Delivery was excellent. I will be using Mixam again very soon. Definitely one to recommend.

"Just not reliable or bothered about accountability."

MIxam have messed up 2 out of 5 orders for me. Not a great percentage.

The first messed up order consisted of about half of my comics being stapled together in the wrong page order rendering them useless - the resolution? A £20 credit to my account that was strategically withdrawn by Mixam before it could be redeemed - this is who you are dealing with...

The second order messed up has had multiple delays added to the production turnaround, taking me over a deadline and rendering the product useless to me. I have asked for a full refund as I still haven't received the order even with the updated timescale that stated it would be with me today.

Go elsewhere with your business and do yourself a favour. But if you do feel compelled to order with Mixam, then order small.

So I received the order late and guess what? 55% of the books are unusable as they have been put together incorrectly.

55% - OVER HALF OF MY ORDER IS WRONG AND MY ENTIRE ORDER WAS LATE

Read the Mixam response for yourselves - they are not bothered and have actually contradicted themselves with the "Delays during busy periods" nonsense that you see below. I received an email from a chap called "Joel" who works at Mixam in response to an email about this order - he told me that several of their machines broke and took longer to repair than expected. Why am I being given two different narratives?

Ok, a lengthy review here!

First: customer service. Outstanding! I cannot fault this. The help I received was timely, friendly and above all, very effective. I cannot thank Dan Parkes and Danielle Siberry enough for their efforts to help bring my project (large, casebound coffee table photography book) to fruition.

Second: design. I used the online design tool. I found it reasonably intuitive and fairly easy to use. My project took several months to complete, and I saw a number of changes over that time, so I think it is still in the development stages. This is probably why I encountered a few glitches, which Dan was brilliant at helping me to sort out. We got there in the end!

Third: printing. I was nervous about colour reproduction, going from RGB to CMYK. I needn't have been; the colours are very close, if not identical, and certainly wholly acceptable. What was less good was that all of the books (200) had pages that had ink marks on them. In most cases these were very faint and just about acceptable (most people probably would;dn't notice). In 18 of the books though, the marks made them unsaleable by me. In one other book the pages had been bound in the wrong order. So, 10% of the order was unusable. However, Mixam have a very easy and efficient way of reporting issues and as soon as I did, my case was looked after by Danielle. She ensured that everything was resolved to my satisfaction, and kept me informed throughout the process.

I would definitely use Mixam again, and just hope for a bit better printing, next time!
