"Unforgettable trek in Langtang Nationalpark "

I did the Langtang Valley Trek and I had an excellent experience with Green Valley Nepal Treks. The communication prior to the trip was good and I always got a an immediate answer if I had any questions. The trip itself was well planned and well executed. Anil was a fantastic guide and he really put in efforts to ensure that I had a great experience. He knew the area remarkably well, had good connections to the hosts of the guesthouses and he had a lot of expertise in trekking. Every evening he gave me a briefing about the next day and made sure that the itinerary was aligned to my wishes and expectations. The timing in February was perfect because we didn't come across a lot of tourists and we had good weather for the majority of the trek. The tour offered some amazing views on the Himalayan Landscape and I got a flavour of the tea house culture in the higher altitudes. Overall, the plans we had made worked out smoothly and I had a seamless experience.

"Awesome Everest Base Camp Trek"

Had an awesome experience doing the EBC trek through Green Valley. I had a successful trip reaching EBC and having a great and stress free journey up and back. Had great weather and took lots of pictures. Change of plans and delays were accommodated for and communication with Arjun was swift. My guide Dewan did a great job in making me feel  settled and stress free. I would recommend Green Valley for someone wanting to trek with a company that is reliable, flexible and delivers a great experience.

"EBC + Kala Patthar, Excellent Experience - Jan 2024 • Solo"

Joined a 12 day winter EBC + Kala Patthar trek in Jan 2024. Arjun was the main coordinator and he was excellent in coordination of logistics and overall preparations.

Arrived in Kathmandu and was seamlessly received from KTM airport. Accommodation was arranged at Hotel Thamel. Arjun ensured we had all required equipment and administrative items.

Our guide, Gokarna Rai, received us at Lukla Airport. Gokarna was the best guide I could hope for, very upbeat and articulate, and was able to communicate with us with very good English. Throughout the trek, Gokarna closely monitored our well-being, was very helpful in all aspects, accommodated to the speed at which we moved, and all in all an enjoyable person to hike with.

Gokarna was very knowledgeable about the mountains and was able to answer any queries we had. He was very encouraging and positive, motivating us to take on the vast distances and strenuous climbs required. He was punctual for all meeting times, ensuring we kept to the schedule, suggesting best practices that made our trek extremely smooth and enjoyable even during challenging portions. He had great navigation skills and always knew the way.

I highly recommend Green Valley, Arjun, and most of all, Gokarna as a guide, and I would most definitely ask for him as a guide for future treks in the Everest Region. His deep experience as a guide and endearing nature will ensure that you are safe and have an excellent experience in the mountains.

"10/10 EBC family trek"

I contacted Green Valley Nepal Treks a few months out to plan a family trek to Everest Base Camp.
Arjun’s communication and information was decisively detailed and thorough.
He planned our EBC itinerary around the dates we were available ensuring every possibility to maximise our adventure.
We took our 4 children (ages 24, 17,17,13)and they absolutely loved it, despite the treks physically and mentally demanding aspects, they found it amazing.
Our guide Gopal and his team of porters were fabulous.They were professional, caring, attentative to detail, and above all very dependable.

I would like to thank the company Green Valley Nepal for the service that we have provided for the entire time we are in Nepal, starting from the company's hospitality for our guide Narandira for serving us and keeping us as a family together with the porter we have Sailesh who is a good person to us and the happiest even though it was It was his first time and he was happy with all the mountain services. I would also like to thank the guide, let us do a Town tour with him. He is very knowledgeable about the things that happened together with the people of Nepal. In the end, our tour was 100 percent successful and I left us happy people with good memories of Green Valley Nepal for making us successful.

"Full Day Kathmandu Tour with Green Valley Nepal Treks"

Saru, with Green Valley Nepal Treks, led us on a fantastic full day tour of Kathmandu.
We had an entire day to see as much of Kathmandu, Nepal as possible. On our list were the seven UNESCO world heritage sites and Green Valley Nepal Treks handled everything, including coordinating each site, and a day long, Driver and Guide. Green Valley Nepal Treks worked hard to help us with our difficult scheduling issues. The entire tour was fun and staff so professional. Saru was our guide and she was awesome. She really knew about all of the sites we visited and took personal care to help us get what we wanted. She was kind, personable and professional. Saru took us to each site and they were so amazing. We were impressed with how she explained cultural and religious practices and also how life is for people in Nepal. I would definitely request Saru on the next trip and recommend her and Green Valley Nepal Trek for people visiting Kathmandu.

"I did the Everest Base Camp Trek with…"

I did the Everest Base Camp Trek with Green Valley Nepal Treks in the last two weeks of November 2023. My guide Raj Lamalxa Kulung (Raj) and my porter Kershav Rai (Keshav) guided me safely up to the base camp. Having had altitude sickness during a trek in Kyrgyzstan, I was really worried if I could manage these levels of altitude. In the end, I had no problems at all mainly due to the experienced recommendations of my guide, Raj:
- Water is key. The more the better. Aim for more than 5 or even 6 Liters a day. Once you get a headache, drink half a liter of water, it will get better.
- Trek high, sleep low: On acclimatization days, Raj proposed treks to higher altitudes which helped the acclimatization process.
- Keep it slow / frequent breaks: The trek is not technical, so you might want to rush ahead and gain ground. That‘s a mistake. Raj made sure we had sufficient breaks which helped the acclimatization process.
- Food and drinks: Raj put a lot of emphasis on eating and drinking the right things. Avoid oily dishes as they may take very long to digest. Avoid non veg items as there is no reliable cooling process for meat in this altitude. Instead go for dhaal bhat, the food of the porters, and ginger tea, due to the positive health effects of ginger.
- No preventive intake of medicine. This is the main point why Raj is a 5-star guide: In the teahouses, I have seen many other guides advising their clients to take Diamox against altitude sickness and medicine against headache as a preventive measure without giving them a change to acclimatize naturally at all! I was so happy that Raj was not pumping me full of drugs just to have an easy trek, but instead to meticulously focus on my condition.
- Garlic: No recommendation of Raj but of Reinhold Messner: Take either garlic tablets, raw garlic or eat garlic soup at the teahouses. It‘s a natural aid to acclimatization.
Apart from his great experience and recommendations, Raj had a great sense of humor and gives great tips what to explore the next time I visit the Everest Region. To sum it all up, the trek was amazing and when I return to do the Three Passes Trek, I will request to do it with Raj and Kershav!

There are also some points of improvements you could request if you decide to do the EBC with Green Valley Nepal Treks:
- Plan an additional puffer day in Gorakshep: Due to snowfall I was Not able to ascent Kallar Pallar. I highly advise to plan an additional day in Gorakshep to hedge yourself against the unpredictable weather.
- Do not trek from Lobuche to Pheriche on your return but instead trek from Lobuche to Dingboche. The winds storming through the valley of Pheriche are freezing! There is no reason to take this route.
- If you reach your lunch spot already at 10:30 am or 11 am, just take a tea break and then move on to your final destination. Having a filling lunch and then continuing trekking increases the chances of headaches.

"Gokiyo lakes"

This was my first trek in Nepal.I opted for Gokiyo lakes with Renjo la pass.Overall I had a great experience.Arjun took care of everything.Whole team is nice.Was trekking solo so my request was to have good guide and he provided me the best one Bindra Dai.Looking forward to trek again with Green Valley in near future
