"Fabulous experience, fabulous ukulele!"

I bought my new tenor ukulele: a Kala KA TEME from Southern Ukulele two days before Christmas. The communication from Alex was prompt, friendly and reassuring. The Uke was dispatched to arrive just after Christmas which I was fine about, due to the Christmas rush and the late order I wasn't expecting a Christmas delivery. I also know that they don't rush the instruments out the door but do a check and a set up. Imagine my delight when my little darling turned up on Saturday 23rd! The ukulele itself is lovely, flawless and set up beautifully! I wouldn't hesitate to buy from Southern Ukulele again. I find the website great to use, the prices competitive, and the quality and service superb, and only wish they were down in Exeter. I hope to visit one day as it is temptingly, not too far away.

FAST delivery: I bought a Tenor Ukulele and a Stagg case on the 01/12/2015, it was safely delivered 03/12/2015
WELL packaged: The Ukulele and case were very well packaged keeping them both safe, and also NOT too much packaging, which is environmentally friendly
Helpful advice: I had no idea what I was doing, I was buying for someone else, and when I called the person I spoke to was patient, kind and really knowledgeable, and I knew what to order within a couple of minutes.
FAST / EASY checkout: I could pay via PayPal, which is really useful as I did not have to enter all of my address details, making the checkout process quick and easy.
GREAT Communications / Customer service: I received an order confirmation immediately and emails confirming dispatch, which day it would be delivered and another one on the day letting me know the exact hour it was to be delivered.I was also able to change delivery date / location online.
I would highly recommend purchasing a Ukulele from The Southern Ukulele store, and accessories as well, the staff are easy to get hold of, helpful, knowledgeable, and listened to what I needed and help select exactly what you need from their large selection. I could not have hoped for a better shopping experience with the Southern Ukulele store and will be going back to them for all further Ukulele and accessories purchases, they are honest, helpful and offer a wide selection - what more can you ask for :-)

I was first made away of SUS by a contact at Omega Music who didn't stock the ukulele I wanted. SUS were incredibly helpful and I subsequently bought a Pono baritone uke from them. The ordering process was straightforward and delivery was fast. I've now ordered a Pono tenor uke from them and once again have found them to be incredibly efficient when answering queries sent by email and in then organising a fast despatch. The folks at SUS really do know their subject. Their website is a very easy to navigate and it's very easy to find what you're looking for. As their name implies, they specialise in ukuleles so don't go looking for Marshall amps with the mythical '11' on the volume control (although maybe a uke fed through an array of FX boxes and then a Marshall operating well beyond the pain threshold might well be an interesting challenge). Having said that, amongst the array of acoustic amps they sell, they DO also stock a 460 watt PA amp and also a few FX units . But on the whole, their main fare is ukuleles of every conceivable kind together with all the usual accessories. My wife is just happy that we live nowhere near SUS or I'd be waffling on even more about them.

In short, then - if ukuleles are your thing, whether you're a newbie or an experienced player, you'll be hard-pressed to find a better dealer to go to. I happily recommend them without reservation.

Update August 24th. 2016 - Have just placed a new order by telephone and, once again, received ultra-friendly and knowledgeable help. I had doubts about whether one particular type of case would be OK for the long-necked uke I wanted. Steve happily checked 3 cases for me until he was able to confirm that one choice was ideal. This really is a great company, staffed by folks who do all they can to help. There's only one thing to beware of .... there's a real risk of developing or aggravating UAS (that's 'Ukulele Acquisition Syndrome' for those who don't know). Through several instances of personal experience, I recommend them without reservation.

I ordered a tenor uke and case on the Saturday and on the Monday I received an email from Alex just double checking my order as I accidentally ordered a concert uke case. Great thinking and not just somebody doing their job. They even let me off the additional £1 cost, which again was a really nice touch as they now have me as a loyal customer. Btw, the uke arrived on Tuesday and is awesome! Even from Dorset to Cheshire it was still bang in tune :D Thanks guys
