"Good price, good service, no complications!"

Driveaway offered a good deal, with no hidden complications. Everything worked smoothly.

"Relaxed booking with an Australian firm."

Everything was pretty simple. Booking was easy to make. Prices were competitive.Car ,an Opal Diesel was fantastic. Only slight annoyance is when picking car up in France they really try to push extra insurance which we had already paid in Aust.. Certainly would consider this company again.

"Efficient. Helpful. Good value."

I have used Driveaway four or five times now. Each time i have found them very efficient and very helpful. They reply to emails quickly. They put up, this time, with a number of changes to my booking and charged no extra for making those changes. The cost of the bookings always seems at least as good and usually better than other quotes I can find on the web. I am very, very satisfied with them. I have noticed that most of the negative reviews are not complaining about the service given by Driveaway but about the service given by a particular rental company like Eurocar. It is not fair to blame Driveaway for this in my opinion!

"Road Trip Raleigh NC to Dallas TX"

Nice easy pickup inRaleigh as arranged. Car easy to drive and roomy enough for our luggage which included a bicycle in a box. No problems with the vehicle and easy drop off at Dallas Fort Worth airport. A week of middle America through Nashville and Memphis. Memorable!

"DriveAway - Fantastic"

DriveAway arranged a Peugeot 308 for my stay in Europe. The service, the car and the experience has been first class. I would recommend them to anyone.

"Driveaway holidays fine , UK Europcar NOT"

We arrived at Heathrow at 6am and proceeded to pick up car from Europcar UK. Initially we were given incorrect directions from Europcar staff in terminal as to where to pick the car up from. When we finally arrived at pick up point we were forced to spend 90 minutes with staff just intent on upselling. The upselling experience was quite unsettling and not what we needed after such a long flight from Melbourne. We were then offered an entirely different car to what we had ordered through Driveaway holidays. When we were eventually offered correct vehicle we were then not shown to the car or shown anything about operation of the vehicle. Not a happy Europcar UK experience.

"The only agency I use to hire cars anywhere in the world."

I hire cars for for about 4 weeks every year and I only use drive away. I use the online and telephone booking service. I couldn't be happier.

"Car rental in Italy made easy"

After many attempts to book a car from Civitavecchia to Ascoli Piceno in Italy, I was unsuccessful. Even after I rang Avis in Italy they told me it was not possible to hire a car in Civitavecchia and drop it off in Ascoli Piceno.

However, after contacting DriveAway, all was made easy. They arranged everything and it went completely to plan

"car size smaller that we what we ordered"

Cars need to be what you ordered, picked a car because of boot size to take 4 large suitcases. Its not what we received and had to change cars which was cheaper but could not get a refund as we had paid through drive away at least 5 months in advance.
car ran perfectly and was great on petrol

"Beware of 'extras'"

We paid in advance in Australia for a rental car to be picked up at Avignon, France. The collection process was chaotic with only two customer service reps for about the 15 customers waiting (and it was a stinking hot day). When we finally reached the counter, our time with service people was punctuated by earlier clients interrupting to clarify routes, car equipment and other questions: clearly their briefings from counter staff had been inadequate. We then had a series of Macdonalds extras offered such as an upgrade of vehicle, excess waivers, full fuel tank waivers etc etc. In such a chaotic environment we probably ticked a few too many boxes and ended up with an additional bill about twice the original one ie the total was three times the original!. A debit was made from out visa account with no explanation or itemisation of the account. I complained about this to DriveAway Holidays Australia and have now received an itemised account from the provider; undoubtedly none would have been provided had DriveAway not pressed the matter with Europcar.
In future, I will think very carefully about alternatives (bus and train) to car hire or at least think about daily hire where necessary andfactor in some of the extras before making a decision.
