"Amazing company to work with - highly recommend"

This is an amazing company to work with. I generally do not use tour companies as I am more of an independent traveller so I was slightly reticent. They were fantastic from the start - 10/10 - from lining up a phone call to discuss requirements, then their ongoing communication in the lead up to the tour and during it (thank you, Franny and Phen). They also explored cost-effective options (eg group transfers). The tour was in Patagonia so Adventure Life organised a pickup from the El Calafate airport to the El Chalten accommodation, two day hikes with a private guide and then to the El Calafate accommodation. A tour coordinator came to the hotel to explain, using the maps, what was involved in each day tour and what should be expected, and patiently answered all questions. The tour guide Marcos was excellent - very professional, knowledgable, communicative and at all times felt very safe with his navigational skills (important in the Patagonian wilderness). On the second day I forgot to take hiking poles so Marcos kindly gave me his. I honestly wouldn't have changed a thing and would happily recommend and book through them again.

"Extremely disappointed "

We just came back from 7day/6 night trip in Costa Rica. Extremely disappointed as we realized all Adventure Life did was booking hotel and transportation with huge mark up. There was no service provided during the trip at all. The hotels we stayed at were a mix, so was transportation. On our 1st day of the trip, I discovered Adventure Life charged us for an excursion that was free. When I asked for itemized cost for each of the excursion, the answer was that AL doesn’t provide that. I then pulled all the pricing info from both hotels on what we would have paid if we booked through hotel, AL finally acknowledged they charged mark up (48%) on a pricing provided by their contractor which was marked up already. We did get refund and reimbursement of the cost of 3 nights stay of 1st hotel, but the way AL went about it was very disappointing.

Adventure Life has been great throughout my planning process for our up and coming Galapagos cruise. Kevin Moore, in particular, was very helpful in assisting me in making choices and providing me with options. He was also very patient, as I worked through figuring out what I really wanted in this vacation.

Mary Curry made the experience wonderful for the second time. She is the reason we returned to Adventure Life to book our second cruise on WindStar. She is tireless, well informed, pleasant to work with and totally reliable. If you offer employees bonuses, give her one! there who answered to phone to help us book shore excursions were also very good and easy to work with - and we demand rather an lot of help.

Fantastic trip. Great food, wonderful scenery. Very fortunate the tour was under-subscribed (32 of 90 possible bookings) so it was really comfortable. Half this number was comprised of a tour from USA. We shared a table with an older couple - Ian and Helen, but everyone was friendly and excursions were efficiently run. We benefited from a requested cabin upgrade which saw us in the best suite.

First of all we were told that we could tailor our trip to our interests which is fantastic. We needed several iterations to get our trip itinerary nailed down. Our contact at Adventure Life responded quickly and we settled on a trip in a matter of weeks.
