"Complete crooks"
Complete crooks! If i could give zero stars I would. These thieves belong in jail. Took my money, claimed they saved me 1000's took more money as a reduction achievement fee and then the claim got denied and they refused to refund the fee and palmed me off onto their sister company CCS who refuse to speak to me or answer emails.

"ONE TO AVOID…"
’m sure you are all familiar with the old adage, “ a fool and his money are soon parted “. Well; I am that fool and as such I feel entitled to comment on the company Hampton Lovett. Some years ago, we were contacted by said company, who explained that we were probably paying over the odds for our business rates . They quoted things like, “your neighbour is paying less for the same size property “, “ you are being charged for a mezzanine floor , which should no longer apply “ and “ you are being charged for your loading area & kitchen, which should be exempt“ . You get the picture. Naively I agreed to enter in to a contract with them. We duly paid our money ! I think it was about £1495 and we waited and we waited. We then had a letter asking for more money or we could consider the contract complete and just walk away. I voiced my concerns on trust pilot as to whether this was a scam or simply sharp practice . Very quickly I was contacted by Hampton Lovett who told me it was an error on their part, we should never have been sent the letter. I agreed to give them more time and diluted my trust pilot post. Finally D day arrived, the rates office confirmed, we don’t appear to have a leg to stand on. Claim dismissed . Hampton Lovett’s response, “ well we can’t guarantee the outcome BUT YOU DID KNOW THAT, IT’S IN THE SMALL PRINT , you could appeal but it’s not really worth it “ . So, it’s a gamble. My suggestion would be that if you want to gamble, buy a lottery ticket, back a horse that way, you will know very quickly if you’ve won, you won’t be waiting two years, and in my opinion, you probably stand a better chance of winning but what do I know, I’m the fool that was parted from his money.

"As per the many reviews below we parted…"
As per the many reviews below we parted for £1800 and HL have done nothing and now told us the rules have changed and we can’t get any money back. Avoid like the plague. They are scammers

"I like so many others was taken in by…"
I like so many others was taken in by their marketing and estimated rebates told to me by their sales representative. After parting with £2k. The actual experience of dealing with them over the two years for my appeal to go through has been appalling. Poor communication and missed deadlines followed on by a quickly put together appeal which eventually failed. Despite this I was still receiving marketing emails despite all ready being signed up as a customer.

"Hampton-Lovett. Complete scammers!"
Shame there isn't a zero star rating! After 3 years of e-mails and chasing Hampton-Lovett the decision was reached by the VOA that our rates will not be reduced despite the assurances given by the Hampton-Lovett assessors.
What a complete waste of time and money, Hampton-Lovett have pocketed their £1500 and achieved absolutely nothing. In their submission to the VOA they did not even compare properties that were anything like our own in order to make comparisons with cheaper rates so no wonder the VOA through the application out. What a joke, complete scammers. Do not get involved with them.

"Scammers - avoid"
Another small business scammed by them. Paid £1,300 for a Rates Appeal for the 2017 period. Assured we'd been paying thousands too much. Eventually got a reduction in rateable value of £250 - so an actual reduction of just under £125. When I got the property removed from VOA records completely in 2023 due to a massive building project taking place, converting the property to domestic, Hampton-Lovett demanded 25% of the reduction I'd obtained myself and are now threatening Debt Collectors, etc - even though they admitted I hadn't even signed up for the 2023 period!
Avoid at all costs.
PS I now note that last autumn their portfolio was 'transferred' to Corporate Commercial Surveyors - which (surprise, surprise) has just ONE director - the same director as was the sole director of Hampton-Lovett. Presumably this was done as the Hampton-Lovett moniker was now of such dubious reputation that a name change was deemed necessary.

"Awful company"
Awful company! Has anyone had debt collection agency threatening bailif action? This company should be reported. Please someone do something!

"Lovett??? You most certainly won't!!"
Ripped off like may others. £1500 paid for what I was assured would be a formality before receiving my rebate. I'm still waiting 5 years later. Emails responded to with copied and pasted answers. These guys have got this scam down to a fine art. Don't be another victim.

"DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY"
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
We were approached by them early 2020, when the lockdown started they refused to let us pause and wait- so despite us having no income and no business they forced under legal threat to make us pay for the service, even though we had only just signed and it was unprecedented times. We initially got about 800 pounds refunded after about a year, we were told the bigger reduction would come in the second phase... roll on to 2024 and we have just been told we are getting nothing back and no change to our rates. This as cost us several thousand for almost nothing when we know our building is paying more than 1. any other similar business in the area and 2. any other business on our industrial estate. Pure incompetency, unscrupulous company. PLEASE DO NOT GO ANYWHERE NEAR THEM

"Complete waste of time and money"
Complete waste of time and money. £3600 invested, 12 months ago in a Business Rates appeal, return on investment, zero.
The case for our Leicester site was simply rejected by the Valuation office agency, the VOA didn't even look at it. Hampton Lovett have nothing of value to offer around that no power to change anything.
The case for our Coventry site is nearing 12 months since we started the process and we are still no closer.
The sales call you will receive promises large returns on your investment with Hampton Lovett, in our case +£20,000, they make it sound like youre a mug not to take the deal and a no brainer. For that you will need to invest around £1500 + VAT per site. Its not over there, if they win they will then take a further 20-25% commission, I honestly cant remember the figure now, its been that long.
As a business we did everything that was asked of us within 24 hours of the information request, we even had to create a government gateway account and fill in a mountain of information around the buildings and the lease. I suspect it may have been much cheaper to log a check case ourselves with the VOA and simply throw a tape measure around the building or submit some plans, (we made several internal changes to the retail zones on shop fit out).
We have been diligent with the speed and accuracy of information requests from Hampton Lovett and done everything that was asked of us. When we have chased for updates we get generic pre written email reply's or a verbal reply to say ''we will look into it.''
I would urge caution before you commit to this process with the promise of tens of thousands in return as so far the net return on investment to our business is zero, it has simply cost us time and money for nothing.
I'm certain Hampton Lovett will have some well thought out excuses for this but remember you are contracting them for a paid for service. A service that has a yield of zero for us.
