"Save yourself money and emotional turmoil "

February 17th we scheduled the move with 'AmeriSafe' and came to a binding estimate of $2,000- $965 paid as a deposit for this agreement. We were told a day before the move when the movers (Vanguard Lines) would arrive, February 22nd and a window of time. They kept calling and pushed it back. Eventually they got their at 7pm, where they insisted $1250 now and $1250 (totaling $3,000- $1,000 more than we agreed upon) despite sending a detailed inventory list to 'AmeriSafe' and coming to a BINDING total of $2,000. They told us they wouldn't move my things unless we agreed. As we were working against time constraints and unable to contact 'AmeriSafe' we obliged and signed this agreement under duress. I provided the moving blanket and tape, they had... nothing... (should have been my second red flag). We called AmeriSafe the next day and spoke to Kimberly Lalacci-. There was no immediate solution or hurriedness to solve the issue or provide decent customer service. 3 days later, the truck showed up. This was a completely different truck- white and not labeled (I have pictures of everything including these trucks). Once they arrive I told the guy I would pay once the job was over, he scream in my face and said 'absolutely not, you'll pay me now.' I responded with, 'I'll pay half now and half later' he responded with 'if you want your stuff moved, you'll pay everything now.' Keep in mind, this is after we were forced to sign a ~new~ agreement with this random moving company 'AmeriSafe' contracted out. We then asked if they were planning on moving things up to the apartment, which we made very clear to 'AmeriSafe' I wanted. He laughed and said no. I proceed to move my things up with my partner for 3 hours. In the end, every box was torn or destroyed and there was hundreds of $s of damages and missing clothing/ bags and important documents. I have pictures of all damages and inventory of missing items. Awful experience.
