"Best technical solution in many cases"

Highly professional from start to finish. The right technical approach for repairing many subsidence problems where fully piling or underpinning could make the problem worse. Minimal preparation needed and site left very tidy. Not a cheap solution, but arguably well worth it for the many benefits over conventional approaches.

"Not recommended, overpriced, unprofessional, using pushy hard line sales tactics. "

I would not recommend this company. The man I spoke to used hard sales tactics stating I would not be able to sell my home, insurance premiums would increase by 800% & I should not go through my insurance company & get a loan instead. The quote received was 3 times more than other quotes and the depth the resin was much less than others, suggesting a weaker foundation. This was based on a video call as they don't appear to conduct site visits which would be more accurate instead of counting bricks and making assumptions.
Despite explaining I was going away, I was contacted 7 times via text and voicemail. This is unacceptable and I consider this to be harassment. His attitude on the voicemails was pushy and unprofessional.
I will not be using this company.

"Great experience overall"

Overall, a personalised and courteous experience. Although we did not use the services in full, the representative of the company has been excellent in their communications and clarity.

We contacted Geobear a few months ago, because of a set of cracks that progressively appeared in our house that got us worried about subsidence.

This was followed very quickly by a consulttion by video conference where the property was mapped and the points of interest were identified. This was a very quick and friendly process.

From first contact, to booking the survey, we had a series of unfortunate events in the family which put a pause on everything. Throughout this time, the representative kept the communication live, letting us know of price updates and other details.

We eventually got to book the survey which was arranged quickly but, could not be carried out because of structural reasons. Specifically, our floor boards were glued together which made pulling up the floor very difficult. And even if we got to that, getting to the soil underneath the floorboards was further complicated by the way the floor was constructed at the particular point of interest.

We followed up with the company for a refund which eventually was provided in full, since no work had been carried out.

In the meantime, we also called a structural engineer who certified that the reason for the cracks was not subsidence but settlement of the structure because of recent works in adjacent houses.

There are two points where the experience overall could be improved:

1. Explaining the extent of required works even if it was just for the survey, "like I am 5". This is very important to have the place ready. For example, my perception was that the sampling was going to be made using a really long drill bit (perhaps in the range 8-10 mm), but the actual sampling is made with a hole that is approximately 300 mm in diameter. Also (in our case) the whole floor would have to be pulled up, followed by a section of the floorboards in between joists. The cost of the survey is approximately £1500, plus any additional costs for doing that work.

This was mentioned during the initial consultation but not in enough (at least for me) detail. Make sure you check online videos about the process.

2. Following up for a refund required quite a few call backs. This may have been because it was during a period when people are mostly on leave. In any case, when everything was checked and it was determined that indeed, it would have been impossible to carry the survey out, the refund was made promptly. The point here is about better communication (internally).

Would we recommend Geobear to others?

Yes. Based on our experience, we would. The main representative we dealt with was Razwan Malik and was absolutely helpful, courteous and discrete.

If you are dealing with a possible setllement / subsidence issue that needs the soil to be stabilised and you are on the right type of soil, Geobear can absolutely help.

"An excellent job"

As part of my insurance claim re subsidence, I had an initial video call with Razwan who talked me through a site visit and the process involved in addressing the situation. When agreed for the work to go ahead, Raz ensured he would arrange this before I was due to be away. The coordinator contacted me straight away and a date a few days later was agreed.
The team carrying out the work arrived early and started work promptly. They were polite and respectful of my property and once completed, left the outside area of my house extremely clean and tidy. I would highly recommend Geobear and would not hesitate to call on them again should the need arise.

"Successful property repair by Geobear"

Geobear’s team fixed our subsidence problem in less than one day. Led by Ivor and a team with 45 years’ experience they carried out all work to a very high standard and could not be faulted in any aspect. Our property is now stabilised and safe with full guarantee and certification so we have peace of mind after a very stressful time. Only reason for a less than 5-star review is that the company fell down somewhat on communication so we were not advised of a schedule for the work or supplied with confirmation that it was actually happening on the appointed day which did give us anxiety. Similarly communication was poor with regard to confirmation of deposit payment. Otherwise very pleased with the outcome and would recommend this company highly.

"Sunken floor"

Geobear has done a fantastic job in fixing the sunken floor in our extension. I had an initial call with Neil Crozier who guided me through the whole process and was extremely helpful throughout. The works were scheduled on a date of my choosing and on the day, the team were in and out in a few hours, completing the job with minimal mess and disruption.

"A good job, very well done"

My Initial enquiry was followed up very quickly by a thorough site visit. Had to wait some months for other contractors to complete preparatory work. Geobear kept in touch to check progress. On the treatment day the workforce arrived early, they made time to answer my questions and work was carried out very efficiently. It took half a day and the site was left clean and tidy.

"Jon Large gave exceptional customer…"

Jon Large gave exceptional customer service from start to finish - the engineers were very polite and respectful of my property - credit control went above and beyond to help me with my issue - the transaction on the whole went smoothly the only road bump I incurred hence the 4 stars not 5 was with the Scheduling Co-Ordinator correspondence, their information was too brief and at times very blunt.
