Fly a Spitfire

"My Spitfire flight"
My Spitfire flight, a generous 70th birthday gift from my wife and family, was an exceptional experience. Added to which my guests who attended with me were able to share in the excitement by taking advantage of the chance to ‘Fly Alongside a Spitfire’ in the Airvan charter. I can also recommend the worthwhile opportunity to purchase an extension to the Spitfire flight to take us down to and along the coast near Beachy Head for stunning views and some aerobatics over the sea.
From the moment we arrived we were made to feel at ease, through the detailed safety briefings, pre flight checks and post flight hanger tour. We were all impressed with the knowledge, professionalism and passion for their subject of all personnel involved with the process.
An absolutely fantastic and memorable day.

"It was a great day out for my father"
It was a great day out for my father, reunited with the Spitfire cockpit after almost 60 years. The admin staff, pilots and hangar tour guide were friendly, helpful, and gave us all the time we needed to make the most of the day.

"An unforgettable experience"
All the staff at Flyaspitfire were friendly and professional, they instil a level on confidence in you from the very beginning, and all those I met whilst there had a passion for these aircraft.
The aircraft are extremely well looked after and don't look anywhere near their age, I only hope I look that good at 75 ;-)
All in all, this was a unique and unforgettable experience. Thank you all at Flyaspitfire

"What a day!!!"
Flew today in MJ772, what a fantastic experience, never in a million years thought I would be doing barrel rolls of the white cliffs at Dover!
All the team were fantastic from start to finish, the pilot (Don) was also superb, over 2000 hours flying Spitfires!
Got the opportunity to take the stick when in appropriate places and times, that was amazing!
Thanks to everyone at Biggin Hill and at flyaspitfire.com
Chris.

"One of the most memorable days of my…"
One of the most memorable days of my life. From start to finish the whole day was superb. If you have a family member or special friend who likes flying and vintage aircraft. Then ‘this is it. From start to finish the whole time spent at Biggin Hill was fantastic. The organisation is well run with excellent safety briefing and extremely well qualified pilots. Mine ( Don ) was ex RAF and had been on active service in Bosnia. The guide round the Spitfire and World War One Hanger was also very interesting. Again with an ex RAF pilot who was very knowledgeable .

"5 star is simply not enough"
5 star is simply not enough. Amazing day that quite honestly can not be expressed in words. An experience that will never be forgotten and amazing staff that just add to the magnificence.
Loved it.

"Brilliant"
Very welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. A thorough grounding on what to expect and an equally thorough briefing.
Don, the pilot was very friendly and kept me well informed on everything and guided me whilst I took control of the aircraft during the flight.
A knowledgeable guide around the hangar and workshops, again, no pressure to "move on".
All in all a brilliant experience and I highly recommend it to anyone who has an interest in these aircraft and their history and is keen to a "taste" of flying in a Spitfire.
To complete your day drive over to Kingshill, the old West Malling aerodrome which has been re-developed, and have a meal in the Spitfire restaurant washed down with a pint of Spitfire ale.
A day to remember!
