When we first used it was lacking many features however it has improved over the last 12 months. The main draw back is price. It's an expensive cost and lack the power to ship massive amounts of orders over 100 at a go is a nightmare. Hopefully we will see direct royal mail a nd courier integration like other programs rather then a third party program which seems to do a slow job of it. If this happens it will become far better

"Time saving essential software for ecommerce"

Brightpearl has truly completely changed how we run our business. Before we relied on separate spreadsheets and multiple web based tools. Now we are all joined up. Accounts, inventory, goods in, contacts, payment portal all in one! Links seamlessly to Shopify too! Genius!

"Very long wait for critical bug fix"

Great platform that does a good job of handling inventory, order processing, accounts and even CRM. Integrates well with shopify and amazon (but won't push listings to them so you will still need to do your listings across all platforms seperately).

Held back by a few niggles in usability that mean it can at times be trickier to use than a more established platform. You find after using it for a while that there are some small things you can't do and have to find a work around. (Things like difficulty editing prices in purchase orders or having a statement view for bank accounts).

Finally it does suffer from some performance issues especially during peak periods meaning you have to handle orders in batches of 50 or sometimes 30 to avoid the pages crashing on you. It's not critical because you can refresh the page, login again and everything has worked through ok but does slow down the process somewhat.

Update:
We are 8 weeks into a major issue with brightpearl which is causing invoices to be incorrectly downloaded from shopify and amazon. So far we have had no indication of any progress towards a fix and have 1300 incorrect invoices in the system which are awaiting repair. I have been chasing them on a weekly basis for updates and every time it is the same story - which is that the person on the helpdesk is 'pushing for a fix' but essentially nothing has happened yet. Very disappointed as other wise this is an excellent product.

When my business colleague Edward and I were trying to find a way to work together whilst living 300 miles apart we came upon Brightpearl and quickly realised that with its cloud based access and a wide range of functionality designed specifically for the wholesale and retail trades, that it meant, off the shelf - and will small monthly payments so we could pay for its use out of cashflow - was as close as we were likely to get for the ideal system for our small but growing business of 'Ed & Phil' acting as a distributor or sporting, outdoor and fitness products to independent retailers in those market sectors. We use the CRM database to record and profile our retail customers and contacts and link that to MailChimp for group email promotions, and the included accounting, sales order, purchase order and product listings combine to give us most of the business functions we need all in one package. When we were looking for a logistics fulfilment partner the same flexibility made it possible for us to work with a partner company a few more hundred miles away from both of us - we simply enter sales orders and send off a packing note email from within the system for our partner to then despatch the product for us. Brightpearl is at the heart of how our business works and gives us the platform to grow without having to invest in new or different software or systems in future. Hard to monetise how valuable that is going to be for us over the next few years, but certainly invaluable!

I can honestly say that before we took Brightpearl on board we struggled to get to the end of the day having completed the days necessary tasks. We never had the opportunity to consider factors that would grow the business let alone manage those ideas. Now our inventory, sales and accounting have one focal point and occupy far less time we are able to find new avenues to explore, many of which have been fruitful.

A good system but there's room for improvement, hopefully future updates will get rid of the bugs.

It is the only game in town - no-one else does anything like it at a reasonable price point - using separate and either badly connected or non connected pieces of software to do all of the above is very inefficient! Used correctly this software will enable your employees to be more efficient and productive.

Brightpearl will pull orders from your website and push them all the way through to your courier whilst handling VAT, inventory, accounts and CRM along the way. Great software.
