For such data, there is not only a lack of purpose and necessity, but above all a lack of reason. According to risk management, such checks for money laundering and terrorist financing are only permitted if there is an increased risk, i.e. a concrete suspicion. Investigations without cause are generally not permitted. There is no reason or suspicion because I have not paid in any money.

Nobody has to take part in such illegal investigations. Anyone who asks you such questions is already assuming everything and will immediately block your money or block your account without the required proof and data. Are they allowed to do that? No. The payment service providers now only consider themselves to be investigative and enforcement authorities because they follow statutes in order to be authorised. Personal freedom is different in Brix countries.
