Company does not warranty their products. Had the knives less than 90 days and one of the tips broke off. Only used once to slice smoked brisket. Company refuses to warranty a clearly faulty products. Buyer beware.

The Seido knives were pretty and decently sharp out of the box, but after spending $500, I expected better with the service provided when buying directly from Seido. One knife already has a broken tip, and their return policy is beyond awful—they didn’t honor the correct discount code and wanted to charge shipping plus a 20% restocking fee just to return a $35 sharpener my husband didn’t want. Definitely won’t be purchasing from them again. Next time, I’ll stick with Amazon—I see some of the same knives (exact knife, but different company), better prices, and a way better return policy. Expensive lesson learned.

"Strongly Advise Against Buying These Knives"

I was given the Executive Japanese Damascus Steel Knife set (a $570 set) for Christmas by my girlfriend. These have very clear and specific care instructions, which due to their price, I have followed to the letter.

Roughly the fourth time I had the opportunity to use the 6" Boning Knife to cut steaks, the handle broke. (I have been using a cool damp towel to wipe/clean the blade)

We reached out to support immediately, expecting them to be highly responsive and concerned based on the website and the response we got was "you must have been using it wrong, we cannot help you”.

Some of the worst customer support I have ever experienced, especially on a high-end premium product.

I have hand washed the ones I have used, immediately dried them, stored on a magnetic strip and avoided high heat.

It is clearly listed on their website that there is a lifetime warranty, and it is directly on the PDP she bought them from.

When I went to leave a review on the PDP, it wouldn't even let me because they only allow "approved" reviews, indicating that what I am sure is a massive quantity of bad reviews have been omitted from their site.

I am now questioning the quality & integrity of the knives all together. If they are willing to blatantly lie and mislead people on their PDP's, put an all caps 'YES' next to their FAQ question "Do you have a lifetime warranty?" then clearly not, makes me wonder if it's even really Damascus or is it just laser etched.

Safe to say I am incredibly disappointed and my girlfriend who got them for me feels like she's been tricked by yet another shady eCommerce brand and wasted her money.

If you are thinking about it, do not buy them.

And to your reply, I'll be reporting you to BBB & FTC, and submitting a complaint through Google so you can no longer run ads. I work in enterprise eCommerce and the verbiage and portrayal of your warranty are incredibly misleading, and against Google's policies for consumer protections.

How this doesn't fall under warranty is insane, these are touted to be used in professional kitchens, and very durable. If this isn't a manufacturing defect, then you simply have terrible products. I had only used the knife 3 times before, and I was cutting steaks, not even for de-boning.

-Misrepresented nature, characteristics and quality of their products.
-Misrepresented on their website the origin of the product. Upon receiving product, box discloses “Designed in the USA, Made in China, With imported materials, Inspired by Japan”.
-Heavily hassled when trying to return product. Demanded a reason for the return.
- Return instructions are not online.
- Consumer is not made aware of 20% restocking fee until after contacting customer support via email.
- Return policy states: “we reserve the right to apply a restocking fee of the purchase price for the returned items” What does “ Apply a restocking fee of the purchase price” even mean?
-Not transparent that they will charge a 20% restocking fee if the products are returned. To reiterate: the 20% restocking fee is only disclosed when initiating a return. It is not stated on their “return policy”.
- Return policy is constructed to deter returns. Strict time frame. Can’t unwrap the purchased product to inspect. Must email tracking number and contents. Must pay for return shipping.
- There is no customer service phone number on the website.
-No US mailing address
- Could not locate on the website that the products are manufactured in China.
-Yes I sent the products back

I purchased a set of Knives on 12/16/2024 and still have not received my product. First they said they were investigating missing package. Every couple days they will respond to my request saying I will receive new tracking info within 24 hours and I get nothing. Still waiting for the product I paid for.
