After drifting through the mine field and trying to understand the procedures required to have a new gas main fitted to my premises, I came across E.L. Gas and Ian. Up to this point I had experienced bad attitude, take it or leave it, 8 to 10 weeks to undertake and ridiculous variations in price.
I contacted E.L. Gas, like a breath of fresh air Ian explained the entire procedure in terms I could fully understand. His price was very good, his attitude was great, even though I phoned him back several times he was always pleasant and informative. He kept me informed with progress and delivered on time. Cannot praise this company highly enough. Their price was very, very competitive but, perhaps more importantly, the work has been done extremely well and in a very short timescale (barely 6 weeks since my first approach to them). Ian has been very understanding, communicating and explaining things to me every step of the way, and has shown the patience of a saint, I think, dealing with my worries since the start. Ours was probably just a minnow of a job to them (new meter & supply pipe to a pub) but I didn't get that feeling from them in our dealings. I have no reservations at all recommending this company.

E. L GAS arranged for us to be connected to a medium pressure main when National Grid refused. NG told us we could only be connected to a low pressure main a considerable distance away - at a potentially enormous cost. After contacting independent providers the work was possible and we initially intended to do the excavation work ourselves to keep costs down. However the quote from E L Gas for the full work and reinstatement was cheaper than others quoted just to install the pipes in a pre dug trench. Communication from Ian was excellent and all questions were answered in a timely fashion. All arrangements were made by Ian and all I had to do was turn up on the day to ensure site access. I would not hesitate to recommend the company to anyone in similar circumstances.
