"Slow and poor communication"

While I appreciate the help I did get, I frequently had trouble getting responses to emails or phone calls when I was told they would call. Our closing was delayed by a week as part of the poor communication. I had as much paperwork in before and offer was ever made and our closing time was already schedule a week later than the normal 30 day close. Our contact told us it was because he didn't get our contract right away, however considering our contract period was longer, we already had a majority of our paperwork in and reviewed, and we were a pretty easy loan (large down payment), it should have never taken so long. The process itself was pretty easy, however the communication and speed left a lot to be desired. For us this was a first mortgage loan experience and it was a very frustrating one. I hope our experience was just an anomaly. Thank you

My loan officer was wonderful and was able to get me financed when I don't think anyone else could have. The only problem was that the responses to my communications could have been a little quicker. Having said that, I would still recommend them to anyone looking for a mortgage loan or to refinance their current loan.

Russell Stout was excellent and worked really hard to help us through the loan process. He was informative and was knowledgable about our situation. Kimberly Cress was vague, wouldn't answer questions and once was willing to let our loan fall through instead of asking a few simple questions and being willing to fight for us. We were very satisfied with Russell and disappointed in Kimberly.

I'm self employed and refinancing my house was a pain. Luckily, they understood the situation and were able to verify and approve my loan quicker than my bank. Overall, happy with the experience and would recommend them.

Initially spoke with an agent who was extremely attentive, but after 1 week, his website no longer worked. When I called Lone Star, they said he was 'a great guy that no longer worked there'. After that, I was poorly serviced by multiple people. Would not ever use Lone Star again.
