I was a little apprehensive about buying solar panels. But now I wonder why. From designing my installation to its assembly I could not have wished for a better company and team. The installation team were short of a roofer due to illness so needed an extra day through which they worked in not the best of weather to complete the installation. In order to check out some aspects of the app I only need to phone the office.

"100% would recommend"

We had solar panels installed In January 23. Having spent a lot of time looking into this as the cost is significant we had read about pros cons and issues some people had been through.
I have to be honest - I would 100% recommend VSL from start to finish the team were helpful and knowledgeable.
There was no pushy sales or pressure to proceed.
The team that visited for pre installation plan were great. They were sympathetic to our needs and went the extra mile to minimise the impact on our property internally. Being a Victorian house there were original features so this added to the complexity but they took the time to work out a plan that we were happy with.
The installation team were great they came when planned and completed the job to a great standard. Even staying very late to get completed despite a 2 hr drive home!
The after care has been great - couple of issue regarding the app (which I’m thoroughly addicted to seeing how much we are generating and when to put the washer on!) but they are quick to reply and are dealing with the battery supplier directly.
I have no complaints and have been very happy with the product and experience.

What a wonderful experience from start to finish. Very professional setup indeed. From the contract signing to the system installation on two separate roof elevations and subsequent after care service these guy’s turned up when they promised to and delivered a very tidy install. The team of 2 electricians (day 1) and 4 roofers plus 2 electricians (day 2) managed to install 14 solar panels on 2 detached roofs with two storage batteries in a central location. We were up and running by mid afternoon on day 2. These guy’s work hard and deserve credit where it is due. I have no problem in recommending these guys for what is a very sizable upfront investment.

From providing information about the right system for my property to details of price, attention to detail, quality of product, helpfulness, responsiveness and after care, the whole team have consistently offer a high standard of service. VSL are an excellent company, right from the beginning they fave bee great . Jonnie was our main point of contact he explained everything clearly an kept us up to date. The installation team were quick an efficient and the panels were generating power immediately . The app is great and gives you lots of useful Information. We use it to decide when to use our appliances and car the car. I would definitely recommend the company.

VSL have offered great service during a lengthy engagement with them. A 7.2 Kw system and two 5.2 KW batteries, combined with a tricky install.
Zoe, Fred, Matty and Richard have all been excellent. Not only do they offer great service it is obvious they do actually care - which is rare these days. I would highly recommend them for any installation.

"Fantastic End to End"

I really can't recommend VSL enough.
With a large purchase like PV and Battery Storage, it's not something you do regularly so it becomes difficult to find a company you can trust.

We initially had a rep from another company who spent most of their time trying to show me copies of accreditations, telling me how he didn't need to work, over-quoting me but saying when I pay a deposit the proper final quote will be created, couldn't tell me the brand or spec of the equipment - all this despite spending 3 hours in my home.

This made me look elsewhere and I happened to come across VSL via a third-party solar search service.

I was initially in touch with Jonny in sales. I was blown away by the technical knowledge he had. Being a tech-driven person, I did have some curveball questions which he competently and confidently answered.
The initial call was about an hour and would have been shorter had it not been for my questions. But a big improvement vs the previous company.
The result of that call was a non-pressure, technically specced solution delivered by email. That part really impressed me. In fact, the quote had a choice of 3 different configurations that we had been discussing. Each set-up had its own set of stats for investment payback projections and monthly solar generation.
All that at a price far lower than the first company that visited me.

At the time there were no reviews for VSL as they were not long up and running. I'm told they existed before but as a new company were doing the installs end to end. That felt like a risk to me, but on the back of the service to that point, and a couple more quick emails with Jonny, I pressed ahead.

After that point, Zoe the support and relations manager took over keeping me informed when my installation was due. There was a delay as we had to get a sign-off from the DNO for the size of the array I went for. Always available whether via phone or email.

During that period their electrician surveyed our house, I forget his name but he was very respectful.

When the day of installation came (which was short notice a day earlier than planned due to issues with another customer), the team arrived with the previous electrician. Lovely bunch of guys who I was able to leave as went up and down in my house and garage setting it all up.

After the installation, there was a slight issue with the version of the equipment installed. TBH, this is probably one of the aspects of VSL that impressed me the most. Zoe totally owned the issue. No brushing it aside or fobbing me off. She sincerely explained how the issue happened and gave me two clear options for a resolution, either of which would have kept me a happy customer.

Even after installation, Zoe is on hand to help remotely with the system, settings and how to. With a level of technical knowledge, I did not expect.

All in all, I can not recommend VSL enough.

The only feedback I have is more aimed at the equipment manufacturer and their companion app.
It all works fully as I expect, but I couldn't see my parents getting to grips with it fully. Either a more customer-friendly interface with more technical options hidden deeper in the menus or, a user-friendly manual that explains in layman's terms what each function does. Though if you can't, there is always Zoe!

A company worthy of praise.

Having been messed around and let down by two other solar installers over a period of 12 months I was left somewhat distrusting in dealing with another company. However my decision to go with VSL was the right choice. December 2022 I made an online enquiry and was promptly contacted by Jonny, I explained my frustration of my previous experiences. Jonny in no way was pushy and was able to design my proposed system with an install of approx 4 weeks lead time. Definitely beats the excess of 12 months from those other clowns! Actually they even moved the install date sooner, which worked better in my favour. (I was lucky, it was just after Christmas) On the day of install a gang turned up and installation went smoothly with all work carried out in a professional manner. Noting any considerations that I had. Zoe then helped me go through the app and is always at hand should I require any further assistance. The system has been in for 5 weeks and working fine, just need the sun out a bit more! Overall I’m really pleased how this company has dealt with me and left confident about any aftercare, time will tell.

"VSL - A Company You Can Trust"

I can't recommend VSL highly enough for giving me a complete service from start to finish. Professional, friendly, full of integrity, it feels like you're dealing with family.

Everyone I dealt with, from Richard and Zoe online and at the end of an always-available telephone to Fred and the guys on the ground, filled me with confidence that I was investing in a quality product at a fair price.

Now my solar system is installed, with battery for storage, I have a new hobby - checking the app every 5 minutes to see where my energy is coming from and where it's going.
