"Alienware M17x"
I stumbled across NDC whilst looking for an Alienware Laptop. I was initially looking to buy a new one but upon comparing prices I decided to buy a refurbished one and get more for my money.
I purchased a high spec one for almost £1500. Having never bought a refurbished laptop before (especially such an expensive one) I didn't know what to expect and kept having nightmares of receiveing tattered boxes and scratched items.
It arrived two days after I ordered it with FedEx and I had to be at home to sign for it. Upon unwrapping I was pleasantly surprised to find an original box. I was a little dissapointed I didnt receive the cap and and the T-shirt you get when you buy a new one (I had been informed i wouldnt get this but it didnt stop me hoping!) however the actual laptop itself more than made up for it.
The condition was as new, no scratches, no wear on the keyboard, no screenburn. In fact the protective plastic was still on the screen.
I didnt receive any manuals but was informed on the laptop that these were available online and they hadnt been printed off to save paper, doing their bit for the Greener Environment! The recovery CD's were present though.
I have been using the laptop every day for over a month now for everything from writing emails to hardcore gaming and have been more than impressed. I still cant beleieve I managed to get such a gem, a maxxed out alienware for little more than what a basic spec would have cost new. Bravo NDC! Keep up the good work!

"Dell XPS 1730 - now scrap"
As at 25 May 2011:
I am located in Australia and purchased a Dell XPS1730 through NDC. Their eBay advert prominently displayed a 12 RTB warranty, as well as a "Buy with Confidence" line as they were a "Dell Registerd (sic) Partner".
The device became faulty within 5 months of the purchase date, requiring me to exercise their RTB warranty. However, this needed me to pay $160AU for shipping the device back to them from Australia. From what I have read of the UK Sales of Goods Act, NDC is required to repair my laptop at no expense to me if the device develops a fault within 6 months. I raised this with NDC, but they have not addressed it in any replies.
The device was repaired and returned to me. It worked for another month before developing a GPU fault. I again paid to return the faulty device to the UK ($180AU), to which it was eventually repaired and returned to me (after some querying on progress after their target 7 working days turnaround). However upon return I found that the laptop was severely damaged in transit. A corner had been ground off as though dragged and the screen was cracked. The packaging was very lacking and an investigation by Australia Post found that it had insufficient packaging to support the device inside.
I have tried contacting NDC a number of times, requesting a refund, but have had little in the way of reply. Their sole reply claimed that they are waiting for the courier to report to them in the past, but that was approximately 2 weeks ago. I initially reported the damaged item to them 3 weeks ago. They also claim that the damage was so extensive that no amount of packaging could have prevented the damage.
Once I received my report from Australia Post, I let them know that Australia Post's findings confirmed that packaging was insufficient and I gave them two business days to respond to my email. I received no reply, so I am posting my experiences here.
I have now paid $1400AU in total for what is now an unusable piece of scrap.

"worst company i've ever had the misfortune of dealing with"
Hi there, i bought My 'refurbished' 'like new' laptop from their very nice website, with no mention of 'second hand' or 'obsolete' both word they later used to describe my system.
it broke with a graphics fault in warranty then again just outside of the warranty. they offered a repair again but with no guarantee of the durability of repair i refused.
This was after several weeks of back and forth messages with them, they had left me no alternative but to threaten small claims action.
Their reply blew me away, 40 pages of nonsense including their explaination of why laptops from them should only last for 1 year!
It ended in a threat of counter legal action for using their name once on a forum thread asking for advice.

"appalling customer service"
had a dell laptop from NDC, had an issue with it since it arrived (USB not working, and now the screen flickering) they refuse to pay for the costs of postage+packaging to get the item back for repair, when clearly the Sales of Goods Act states - the seller must offer to at least repair the goods. They must do this within reasonable time, at NO additional cost to myself and without causing any significant inconvenience.
On the phone they have a terrible mannor of speaking to customers, and say they have no power to do anything, and no one else at the company will speak to you.
Love the fact they only reply to the good reviews below! and continue to ignore their helpless customers.

"Pretty much new Alienware M11x for nearly alf price!"
I bought an Alienware M11x R2 with a maxxed out spec - Core i7, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD drive. The price? £1200, almost half what Dell priced it at over £2000!
The laptop was listed as refurbished and was wary of spending so much money on an item that wasn't new and was wary of internet scams. So I rung them and spoke to one of the sales people who actually pulled out the laptop I was interested in and described me the exact condition and answered my questions.
Having been re-assured I took the plunge and ordered it. It arrived in two days with FedEx and am over the moon with it. The box was a bit damaged and only minimal content was included but the laptop itself was as new. It also came with original Dell charger and battery, which again I was pleasantly surprised with as I had heard of companies using chinese copies. I simply can not say how happy I am with the purchase!
Thanks NDC for saving me a £1000!
To the person below, I am surprised that your M1330 laptop lasted 8 months! I did a lot of research before buying and if you look on teh internet you will see that it had major problems with the nVidia graphics and was a big issue between Dell and nvidia, so i don't think NDC are to blame for your failure on this one!

"Poor Customer Service"
Bought a Dell M1330 from them. First unit had a faulty screen (they obviously do not check the units properly before sending them out to customers). Had to take a day off work just for the courier to come and pick it up again. Had the replacement for 8 months now and have just sent it back because it was overheating, and the plastic frame surrounding the touchpad has cracked. They are refusing to replace the part under the warranty and say I will have to pay for it. The laptop has been kept in great condition without any signs of misuse or damage.
They respond to messages once per day so it takes weeks to resolve an issue, and sometimes they just don't bother replying.
Will NEVER buy from these amatures again. Agreed they save you a lot of money. But if when it goes faulty, they charge you for things that are clearly defective and should be replaced under the warranty in my opinion they are not worth the hassle.
