"What the company is doing good at is…"
What the company is doing good at is having talented/ experienced and caring professionals deal with each and every individual as all situations are different. You have to be a people’s person to to even try to relate or have already been through a similar situation as me. Frantz Cerant who is my representative and is working with me to navigate me through my situation is an amazing human being that cares and is my cheerleader at the same time. I’m blessed beyond doubt to have him as a mentor and helping me navigate through my situation. Please give this man a promotion and a raise for his exceptional work ethic! Leo A Duran, Jr

"Sales and Service - not the same playbook! "
Heads up—I wish I'd found some genuine reviews instead of the overly positive fluff. For transparency, here's a rundown of my experience: Initially, the sign-up guy tailored his pitch to align perfectly with my age and hobbies, which initially felt reassuring but soon proved to be a mere smokescreen, obscuring the lack of substantial information. Our journey into this financial quagmire started with a deceitful broker rep who promised a zero APR for the second year on behalf of a bank—a promise that turned out to be completely false. The lender disowned the rep's actions, leaving us to face the consequences.
Sadly, I believe I'm not the only one lured into securing a Merchant Cash Advance (MCA) under deceptive pretenses, which likely lined the broker's pockets with hefty commissions.
When Coastal Debt Resolve stepped in to "assist" - we were not even a day past due, we just wanted help since we were wronged - the experience only worsened after the sales guy cashed his commission and handed us off to service:
1. They assigned me a representative oblivious to the salesperson's previous commitments and completely disregarded my concerns when I pointed out we had been misled or lied to by the Coastal Sales Guy.
2. Now, my only point of contact, this rep, introduced me to another agent who urgently pushed me to switch my credit card processing away from QuickBooks to their preferred provider – I assume for a processing fee kickback.
3. Upon contacting this new processor, I learned they wanted not only to handle my card transactions but also insisted on a complete migration from QuickBooks right at the fiscal year-end, giving us almost no time to prepare during a critical tax period. My office staff couldn't handle this in 48 hours at Christmas. The situation escalated further when they informed me the lender would freeze my QuickBooks and Merchant Services, which happened shortly thereafter. The slick sales guy never said a peep about this, they relied on a 3rd party to lay out the nasty facts of the process.
Coastal's legal ties initially seemed promising, but when we were locked out of our funds and forced to pay a ransom to the lender for access, Coastal hesitated/failed to provide legal support and said that "the program doesn't work that way." They demanded $20,000 upfront or accumulated for legal fees and another $20,000 to start negotiations, warning me to brace for six months of collection calls, mail, and threats before taking action. (sales didn't mention this)
The stress and misleading tactics make me question the worth of it all. After 10 weeks of paying Coastal $2,300 each week, we've seen ZERO support, just empty reassurances as we fend off collectors with no legal aid in sight. Despite contacting Coastal's legal team, who have ignored my plea for help, we continue to pay the Coastal Fees – which is more than the previous lender commitment. They don't care about small businesses, the stress, or taking money while we can't make payroll. They are bad for businesses nationwide; I can't understand the glowing reviews because putting an 18-year-old company out of business doesn't pull a solid review.
My advice? Be wary. The exclusion of critical facts puts these guys on the same level as the unregulated MCA brokers they claim to differ from. If the sales process had been transparent, I could have made an informed decision; instead, I'm stuck navigating this mess with hefty fees and nothing to show. We should have never got in with these guys—proceed with extreme caution.

"It's a process..."
It wasn't a good feeling to come to terms with my bad decision to take on a high interest/high fees loan knowing that it was going to inevitably be the hardest thing to pay back. We were sinking fast. We are far from being done with this process, but I am very thankful to have Kristel helping me through. She has shown me kindness and kept me grounded through the process. Although this is still something I am not done working through, I do have a sense of calm knowing I can run my business without lingering fear. My journey with this is not over yet and I look forward to giving another review of how it all turned out. My journey started in October of 2024 and I've been able to make it to March without crippling my business with such high weekly payments. It's very humbling and I'm very thankful.
