Firstly I would like to acknowledge that Daystate & R&C
are reputable companies with extensive good reviews.
After much research I decided to replace my SuperTen with a L/H Daystate Revere, widely advertised as available. In fact L/H stocks are virtually impossible to source. Daystate did find a stock which was left over from a special order ( 150 stocks in 2012?) and logo'd with BOXALL & EDMISTON ( 6 times). This company has now ceased trading.This was the only L/H stock available and advised it would be heavily discounted to £80. I ordered this stock and asked R&C to order the gun in .22. On collection a few days later I was advised there would be no discount to reflect the cheap stock and asked to pay their usual price minus £25 discount already offered on another "B" grade stock that was found not to be available.
R&C did not know of this offer Daystate made to me (in writing). On asking DS for clarity I was advised that the discount was only if I bought the stock directly.
If it was added to a rifle and dispatched to a Dealer there would be no discount! I can't understand the logic of this, can anyone!
The gun, as you would expect is very good, shoots well and the stock only spoilt by B&H logos.
I am happy with the gun but disappointed and saddened by the discount misunderstanding .This is not about trying to squeeze a better deal from R&C, just having an offer honoured.
