"Hidden cost - Woo Core Offering HPOS "
According to Woo documentation:
"From WooCommerce 8.2, released in October 2023, High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS) is officially stable and enabled by default for !!!NEW!!! installations."
It's surprising that MWB has decided to release an add-on for HPOS compatibility at an additional cost of $200/year, rather than incorporating it into their standard plugin.
This feature should be a part of the default offering, especially considering the growing importance of WooCommerce within the ecommerce ecosystem. Currently, WooCommerce powers around 40% of all online stores, and it plays a major role in enabling businesses worldwide.
Forcing users to pay extra for a fundamental update like HPOS compatibility undermines the trust of the community and creates unnecessary friction.

We had MWB develop a custom connection from woocommerce to HubSpot so that we can also map our subscription model in HubSpot. Initially, after a lot of back and forth, it was more or less stable. Now, with the introduction of HPOS, nothing works anymore. Despite the additionally required (paid version) of the MWB HPOS plugin. MWB has been working for 6 weeks to restore the sync and keeps putting us off with new delays. We have to synchronize several hundred subscriptions every day (now manually) because our system is based on the MWB plugin. The loss due to MWB's negligent behavior already amounts to several thousand euros, as customers cannot access their subscriptions directly and cancel them. The award as HubSpot Premium Partner is by no means justified as far as we can tell in our case and we hope for an improvement soon. We hope that MWB will prove us wrong.

"Very unethical"
New expensive upsell for HPOS compatibility. HPOS is a core part of Woocommerce, and I would say this plugin is no longer compatible with Woocommerce due to this. I’m curious if this upsell is even allowed per the WordPress terms of service.
A new “nag banner” appeared on my dashboard about the HPOS fee that cannot be dismissed. Clicking the “x” to dismiss it takes you to the plugin page to purchase this upsell. It’s insulting.
Many users voiced concern about this in the support forum for the plugin on wordpress.org, but the posts were scrubbed and the topic was closed. Because of this, I felt the need to warn others about the tactics being used in a review.

"Unprofessional and incompetent"
A core feature on the HubSpot plugin doesn't work on our website. This involved the Abandoned Cart details for customers continuing to sync even after an order was placed.
We raised this issue with MakeWebBetter, and had to chase / repeat the issue constantly (better part of 2 months) - it's still continuing and we keep getting told "there is no issue" when there clearly is.
The cycle is as follows:
1) Given them examples and details of the issue in multiple cases.
2) 3-5 days pass and we chase.
3) Response comes back saying "it's been tested and it's working fine".
4) I point out how it clearly is not, and have to repeat the issue to them.
5) the cycle repeats.
This has been going on for months now and it is clear they have zero understanding of what the issue is and just want us to pay for an ineffectual customisation option that doesn't resolve the issue but instead puts money into their coffers. This entire process has taken far too much time and energy for literally no resolution.
The highlight of this entire debacle of dealing with this was essentially being told in a stock email by one of their employees that we would need to start paying for customer service. I say stock because they didn't even bother to change the font on some of the text they had clearly just copied and pasted to the email.
Considering there has been no resolution or any semblance of an explanation as to what the potential issue could be, it was almost awe-inspiring for them to tell us they were going to charge an absurd rate to essentially not fix anything and waste our time.
By far, the most frustrating experience I have had with a stakeholder.

Bought the Ultimate PAR plugin and added some customisations. This plugin allows me to use just one plugin without the need for 2-3 plugins. The team's support has been great and although there were a few hiccups, they were resolved. So far, happy with how the plugin is performing.
