"Croazia agosto 2018"

"The best partner for luxury boating experience"
We found Sailogy to have the best selection of boats with best prices. Moreover they have expert consultants that could engage with us to solve our situation even on Sunday. The boat descriptions are super accurate with great pictures. We felt all the time that we are in great hands with a great partner.

"I have chartered 4 yachts from Sailogy…"
I have chartered 4 yachts from Sailogy - 2 in Croatia, one in Greece and most recently in Brazil. Although I only use Sailogy now, I will detail the difference in experience compared to the yachts I hired before.
Most important - customer service. There is always someone available and response time is seconds, not hours. As the charters are fragmented and not always in English having the Sailogy people available is immensely helpful.
Pricing - compared to previous charters, everything is very transparent. The market is famous for ‘add-ons’ (and Sailogy has them too) but it’s not like you show up Split and the price is 30% more. You know what you’re going to pay from the beginning. I even received a decent discount on my most recent charter in Brazil that was unexpected.
You’re going to get the boat you booked. Every time I used Sailogy, I got the boat I booked. It seems simple but I didn’t receive the boat I booked on a trip to Spain with a previous company.
Finally - I started using Sailogy due to the selection and detail. That seems to have only increased lately. I checked some other companies on my last charter and there wasn’t nearly the same amount of choice.
I felt compelled to write this review after seeing a couple negative comments. While nothing is perfect, my several experiences with Sailogy are significantly better than with other companies.

"Great sailing but REALLY TERRIBLE customer care - UPDATED x2"
Booked a very reasonably priced package in Sardinia at height of season 2017 for a brand new Bavaria 46. Lots of annoying problems with boat which had no antifouling so covered in algae and weed below waterline which was unsightly and spoiled performance. Door handles, throttle lever etc all fell off and had to be replaced but worst was main winch cap flying off followed by drum. Charter company, took £900+ from deposit for part costing maximum £300 and 5-minutes fitting. Sailogy completely refused to help or get involved. The charter company said we must deal with Sailogy. I had to get Barclaycard to cancel the payment which, to my surprise, they did. After some detailed explanation to them and credits and debits, they finally credited me the full amount but no thanks to Sailogy who were worse than useless. Use them with caution!
Sailogy have responded to my comments below. It's nonsense. They refused to communicate with me or respond to my emails. I chased them for months and it was only the intervention of Barclaycard that solved the problem. I am not reassured by Sailogy's response at all. Great prices, friendly voices on booking but the actual boat charter company you get is a lottery and Sailogy simply don't want to know after that.
Sailogy have responded again. They assert that I damaged the boat. This was the crux of my issue with them and Sailing Sicily. The boat was poorly prepared and numerous problems were revealed during the charter. No antifouling on a brand new 46' sailing yacht is beyond comprehension. Door handles and the throttle/gear lever fell off (quite dangerous when in port). We were given details for the wrong yacht before the charter. Sailing Sicily failed to respond to emails before the charter. They gave us the wrong instructions for the black water tanks (unpleasant). The winch cap had not been fitted properly, the drum went overboard and a repair is a 5-minute job with £300 of parts (I got a quotation from a Lewmar supplier). Sailing Sicily retained €974 from my deposit and not until 3 months later produced a quotation (not an invoice) from the main Lewmar distributor in Milan for €607.52 plus 3 man hours for fitting to give a total of €735.62. There is a YouTube video which demonstrates the complete stripping, cleaning and refitting of the same winch in real time - it lasts 7 minutes - so it is completely unreasonable to quote 3 hours labour. Sailing Sicily acted in bad faith and Sailogy did nothing to help or ameliorate the situation. It was only when I explained the circumstances to Barclaycard that the retention was forcibly credited to my account. I'm not sure why Sailogy want to go on arguing with a disgruntled customer online, if they know me then they can contact me directly. The last time they contacted me or did anything was when I threatened to write poor reviews about them so perhaps that's why they are reacting now - they care about their online reputation, not their customers!
