I have just found out that CCB received my refund of £12,307.37 in Feb 2023 but continued to tell me they had not received a penny until they went into liquidation. Blatant fraud and theft!

does anyone know whats going on with this situation its disgraceful i am owed a lot of money and if it means going to court then i am ,advisory accountants for hmrc ,why couldnt hmrc just pay us back what they owed us no that would just be being straight with people

I have been in direct contact with Michael Banjo who is the sole director of this company regards my SDLT claim. He informed me "A recent review of HMRCs stamp duty policy on claims particularly claims like yours has now made the business unviable.
We are currently in the process of sorting out any and all HMRC payments due in and out of the business.
We are no longer taking on any new claims. We will be in touch as soon as practically possible with any update in relation to your claim."
I imagine the company will no longer be operational and I fear the money HMRC have paid to them will be lost. I am regularly chasing Mr Banjo for updates. So far, my experience with them has been awful and if my claim is not resolved, I will be taking legal action against Mr Banjo.

They have had my money for 11 months and still not paid out the company is in trouble and have stolen my money they said it would be in a holding account for 9 months incase hmrc reclaimed as a stamp duty claim, I have spoke to inland revenue they cant do anything but report the company so they stop paying out to them , this doesn’t help me as still out of picked 7k ,as they have paid my money to these people , no one will
Now reply to me emails and I feel sick as trusted them

The team at consumer claims bureau have been outstanding at every stage- they answer the phone and emails quickly, they are always friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. They handled our stamp duty refund every step of the way, explaining everything and taking care of all the details-we didn’t have to do anything. They kept us informed at every stage and everything was completed for us in a timely manner. Highly recommend, excellent service!

CCB handled my stamp duty rebate claim without any fuss and around 10 months later I received the money at the best price compared to all other companies I quoted against. Only thing I would suggest is to give a bit more detail about how the process works at the start and an update midway through would be useful. Other than that it was a very good service all round.
