Have recently had installed a stairlift from Handicare and am completely satisfied with their salesman. electriciam and engineer whose work was carried out with care and consideration.

We got to Handicare through Age Concern which we support. Handicare came promptly and listened to our needs, explaining how they could or could not meet our requirements. A quotation was prompt and subsequently reduced to match an alternative offer.
The installation was as promised, quick and efficient. We a really very pleased with the result.

Stairlift is for my 89 year old aunt for her safety and our peace of mind. First visit in December was excellent making choosing the right kit simple. Very little paperwork (my aunt hates paperwork), deposit paid. Second visit was also excellent just a few days later, measurements, photographs etc. A radiator needed moving and the plumber Handicare sent was brilliant - didn't even need to shut down heating. Fitting was earlier this week and was very quick. Aunt was instructed well on the controls and was nervous but next day she was fine using it. Simple joystick control, motorised swivel for narrow stairs. Can't praise Handicare enough, great design, excellent service, £5200 cost which is good value.

The service provided by Handicare was excellent from the initial contact through to installation.
The home consultation/ survey (by John) was very thorough to ensure that all of my father's requirements were considered. There was no pressure to order at that time but we needed the lift urgently so we were happy to proceed.
The lift was installed less than a week later by a friendly and professional technician.
As a professional engineer myself I am quite impressed with the quality of the equipment.

We have recently had a stairlift installed by Handicare the engineer was very courteous and helpful the lift looks and operates like a well designed and built product the receptionist was very helpful, well satisfied so far hopefully the aftercare and servicing will live up to the high standards achieved so far.

I wanted a stairlift for a number of reasons! I was recommended to Age UK and could not be more pleased! From a gentleman coming to measure up to fitting took less than a week! Very pleased and would recommend.

This has to be one of the worst choices of Stair lift. Firstly AGE UK promote them as sole provider so no competitive pricing. We needed a longer curved version to replace their previous straight one. They were about to take £5500 off my near 90 Yr old mother until I got wind of it and intervened to get competitive quote. Faced with competition they dropped to £3000! 4 years later mother dies and I try to sell it. Noone will recondition HandiCare lifts because parts are too expensive. HandiCare policy is after 12 months, they will not refurbish lifts or give you any money back.. Its just scrap metal! Its a commercial and environmental disaster to buy a HandiCare lift. If they had extorted £5500 from mother I'd take them to court. The 2017 technology is archaic soviet era so any competitor would be technically as good. Stannah seems to be commonly available reconditioned and I think Acorn too.. Best to buy reconditioned anyway and save 1000s unless you know you'll need it for a decade. Avoid HandiCare!
